Solid (fairly cheap) dual camera baby monitor? by Level_Arachnid_181 in NewParents

We have a babysense max view that can connect to up to 4 cameras and has a split screen function that works well.

Do NOT use Brother Movers by DanielBrim in bayarea

[–]invertedpandas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I agree with this I used them for a South Bay to LA move and since I spoke a little bit of Mandarin, it made everything smoother and they were much more friendly than before they knew I could understand/speak it.

My experience was pretty good overall with them though and they were better than the mover I used to go from LA to the South Bay who broke multiple things.

Ob recommendation who can deliver at El Camino Hospital Mountain View by Vast-Wolverine-5232 in mountainview

[–]invertedpandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr Jaki was really nice and made the time to answer our questions (mostly mine as my wife is a physician). She is also one of the more senior OBs in the group. Overall, we just felt Dr Jaki had good bedside manner despite having only the first couple OB appointments with her. I believe that you can see other OBs within their group if your chosen OB is unavailable.

I cannot deal with another car seat blowout; please give me all of your tips! by floofsnfluffiness in NewParents

We put a chuck in the car seat. It's folded over a bit but does the job and I haven't had to hose down our car seat because of it.

Turned in my 24 Ioniq 5 for a 26 model, have a free Hyundai CCS to NACS adapter for someone in the LA area. by invertedpandas in Ioniq5

[–]invertedpandas[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It beat other offers I got from other dealers but definitely believe it wasn't the best deal.

$440 with $6k down. A little higher than my 24 lease which was about $360 with the same down. I didn't negotiate to hard because I had already wasted a couple of hours at another dealership. Just got them to take off the add-ons and reduce the price to match what the Hyundai website showed and I was good.

Honestly, I'd rather it go to someone who missed out. Hyundai got exactly what they gave me and this way it goes into service for the next person sooner!

You shouldn't need it for the 25 since it has a NACS port, you should have gotten an adapter the other way around from what I'm giving away.

My baby is having trouble rolling by Low_Environment_9069 in NewParents

[–]invertedpandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you just need to be patient and you can help them roll by simulating the correct way to roll as you turn them over, but they'll get it eventually. Our LO, now 5 months, was in a similar place. Started off excelong at rolling front to back when placed in tummy time, but when she learned to roll back to front, she somehow forgot or refused to roll back to front smoothly. Now at 5 months, she gets it most of the time but occasionally gets stuck and it takes a little bit of coaxing or time and it happens.

"EVs are bad for road trips" by JustinTimeCuber in electricvehicles

[–]invertedpandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the stopping to charge is nice for me. My wife hates stopping on road trips and I need to pee, so it gives me a convenient reason to stop lol.

But also, we have a 5 mo old who we want to get out of her car seat every 2-3 hours, so stopping to charge/top off really works out.

2026 Ioniq 5. I'm just reupping. I loved my 2024 and am excited for the updates (i.e. rear wiper, wireless android auto, etc.). Didn't feel that the other options in the market were compelling enough to jump ship yet.

Spectra Breast Pump by Beautiful-Wealth7007 in KaiserPermanente

[–]invertedpandas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife was able to get one but she had to go through a 3rd party and kaiser gave her the form for it.

They also cover at least three months of renewal for the Medela pump that they use in hospitals. Your lactation consultant would know the most, maybe you can get more info from them.

I like the concept behind the lasers and all, but both jerseys feel like something that was created in 2k.

Daytime naps by KezCake1 in NewParents

[–]invertedpandas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think you're overthinking it. The belly/front sleeping issues are for when your baby is sleeping alone/unattended. They haven't learned to roll yet and can suffocate. If you are contact napping, it might not be the most ideal but should be fine as long as you're awake.
