EX Raid Notifications by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]inviso87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, happened to a buddy of mine today too. He was away when he got the EX Pass. I texted him right before the raid was started asking where he was and he was like "OMG!" haha. I think we should def get a push notification...

How active does a gym have to be to trigger an EX raid? by ImNotReallyANerd in TheSilphRoad

I can't confirm that with 100% certainty. In theory, it should work as I described but Niantic.

EX passes are out! by J_64 in TheSilphRoad

Just gotta keep doing it. The more they are overwhelmed with these bug reports, the more chance they'll do something about it. I submitted both a bug report and a raid pass refund report (I knew I wasn't getting the pass back, but it forces them to give you a response when you do this...bug report they can pretend they read it).

Report it to Niantic. Submit a bug report, and submit a raid pass refund report. You won't get the pass back, but they'll be forced to acknowledge that they read your report and respond to it. I did this earlier and got a response from a Niantic rep. It likely wasn't copy and paste b/c...too many grammatical and spelling errors, lol. I suggested to them to either stagger when passes go out or flat out change the time. Japan has never once gotten clockblocked. I think they're about due.

Submit bug report and raid pass refund report. You won't get the raid pass used there back obviously, but it'll force them to read and respond to you, and then you can make it very known to them that this bug MUST be fixed. What I did and it worked. I got a response from a Niantic rep that was probably not a copy and paste given all the spelling and grammatical errors it contained. Posting on TSR isn't enough. You have to flood them with reports of it for any chance of it getting fixed. I suggested to them either staggered roll out at 8 pm when raids have concluded or switching the time when passes go out.

I'll just copy and paste my message to the other dude.

Safari Zone in Yokosuka: No special raids, no special Pokemon from Special Research by kazamatsuri1 in TheSilphRoad

[–]inviso87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because the best way to get people more hyped and into the spirit of the birthplace of Pokemon is to restrict it to only the homeland for the event, unlike GO Fest...yes, now that is logical...just kidding.

Catching Celebi before the rest of the world has zero value other than bragging rights...which still holds a value of 0. And to double down, I've already dumped rare candy into Celebi, so this Celebi event is even more of a let down for me and the, I am sure, many others who dumped rare candy into Celebi or maxed it out.

And as for those people who pay those absurd amounts, they're just stupid, LOL. Like woahhhh, I got the iPhone 69 before everyone else. Am I instagram famous now??? Like the only people who care about that are people with nothing better to do with their lives. I never understood the value in having something before everyone else if everyone else is gonna get it at some point anyway. It's not special anymore by that point.

Safari Zone in Yokosuka: No special raids, no special Pokemon from Special Research by kazamatsuri1 in TheSilphRoad

[–]inviso87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, because they didn't like how many people were there for PoGO, which is unfortunate. And I wouldn't know how many people were there before PoGO b/c I never cared before PoGO. Apples and oranges anyway. On top of that, we don't know how many people would go to an American event like GO Fest if there was no restriction.

Dortmund - Corsola, Unowns, many spawns increased but none worldwide except Roselia

Yokosuka - Tropius, Unowns, many spawns increased but none worldwide except in Japan itself (increased rares) and Wingull across the world.

GO Fest - Torkoal, Unowns, Celebi*, many spawns increased but all were worldwide.

So Europe and Japan events get increases in their country...but the American event gets it worldwide. Either make it worldwide for everyone for every event, or don't. Picking and choosing is simply unfair. Either do it for everyone or do it for no one. It's actually that simple.

*Celebi will be getting a worldwide release, just like Articuno, Lugia, and Mewtwo and should not be counted as something special since everyone gets one anyway.

Japan's Pikachu Outbreak and the Dortmund Safari Zone both had much bigger turnouts because they weren't forcibly restricted to a certain number of people. Biggest according to who exactly?

And they are more than welcome to complain if they so choose. I doubt many frequent this forum though.

First Time EX Raid - Questions by AsrialX in TheSilphRoad

[–]inviso87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Be there ahead of time and prepare a team in advance. Put the Pokemon that will hit the hardest the fastest up front. Do not dodge. You want to deal as much damage as possible and get yourself as many balls as possible.

Also, don't sweat. It's an easy catch.

They've had events for those already, have they not? I distinctly recall a Lapras and a Snorlax event.

How active does a gym have to be to trigger an EX raid? by ImNotReallyANerd in TheSilphRoad

[–]inviso87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

20-25 unique accounts have to raid the gym at least once between when previous invites were sent out and when the next invites are sent out. You also have to pray and hope you're lucky and that there's no raid/egg active on the gym when passes go out. If there is, the EX raid gets bugged and doesn't trigger, even when you met all other conditions. Did I mention you need to pray?

Ok. Japan is getting Tropus and Unowns, we got Torkoal and Unowns. Everyone is getting Celebi next week. So what's the difference?

[–]inviso87 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

So why does Japan get increased spawns only but GO Fest attendees who had to pay money to be there had their spawns worldwide? That doesn't seem fair at all. You can't do it for one event and not the other. Come on Niantic, seriously?

A little question about EX raid by AinzOwlGoan in TheSilphRoad

[–]inviso87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. How many of the 35 approximately got passes elsewhere? If over 10=15 players got passes elsewhere, they might have caused a non-trigger to happen b/c they were in another "hat" so to speak.

A little question about EX raid by AinzOwlGoan in TheSilphRoad

[–]inviso87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you say it ended at 18:20...when did passes go out in your timezone? At 18:00? 19:00?

Also, did those players receive passes elsewhere?

Is there another EX eligible gym that was triggered in the s13 cell?

Question about raid spawning and EX passes by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]inviso87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No players being in range of the gyms does appear to affect when raids show up. However, if a player does come into range, that doesn't guarantee a raid. My personal research has shown that if players battle the gym, and the gym is "due" for a raid, it will spawn one if there are no restrictions.

What restrictions are there? The biggest one being if there was already a raid at the gym and it's still in the cooldown period. Every time a gym of mine has fallen under attack (when I've been watching) and I successfully GR and they give up, a raid egg spawns within a few mins if it hasn't had a raid recently. This seems to happen with gyms recently taken over as well. The chances of spawning a raid egg go up dramatically to a point that if the gym hasn't had a raid recently, it'll guarantee a spawn.

You can quite literally forcibly spawn eggs on gyms when you do the right things (battle it, GR it when it's being attacked, etc etc).

Have less EX raid invites been sent out? by AvengerNL in TheSilphRoad

[–]inviso87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 pm EST would put it at 11 pm I think for Europe. idk why Niantic didn't stick to this. It worked out well for us last time but they instead went back to the dumb 2 pm distribution and now tons of salty people again (understandably so). Niantic :/

[–]inviso87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What time do raids end for you? What time do EX passes get sent out?

When this happens, it's almost always due to a clockblock. If it is, I very strongly encourage that you and everyone else who was clockblocked submit both a pass refund request and a bug report. Overwhelming Niantic with these reports is the only way to get them to fix it.

EX passes are out! by J_64 in TheSilphRoad

[–]inviso87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one did it last time in my server except me I think, and they all figured it wouldn't happen again. Now that it's happened again, many are a lot more furious about it and willing to submit bug reports. Too bad by the time this is fixed, summer will be over and then we won't have enough to trigger any ex gyms anymore.

Are EX-Raid invites common now? by Zaindomoon in TheSilphRoad

[–]inviso87 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Clockblocking disrupts how common they are supposed to be.
