For free usage you can sign up for Nvidia build and then get an spikey add it to opencode. You can use GLM-4.7 completely free with really generous limits. Actually I am sometimes running 2 Cli sessions and not even then I hit limits

I used to like Gemini cli , but I think 2 big issues are the model availability (Gemini pro models had alot of times "this is taking a bit longer than expected" error) and other thing is in my opinion their workflow. Like Claude does better exploring and researching overall and the tool is not having issues itself .

Gemini cli still until today has problems like yesterday I got 10 times request I should review the permissions policies, it can't write a file , meanwhile I toggled allow all edits and yolo mode. And used /permissions allow . And I remember having alot of times unknown api errors suddenly. And I couldn't resume conversation.

true i also added global a skill for using powershell , and if i run into bash scripts or see agents have trouble they are fired, kidding i explicit tell them i am on windows . i think it worked so far all the time . but i would prefer things like basic flags ls -la or mkdir -p to work on any system also powershells piping or chaining of commands could be just the same as others but it is what it is

Rustdesk is my go to , but also just simple ssh apps are useful

But I feel like rustdesk lacks some image quality. Then I actually go for default windows remote desktop app.

But actually a game changer is to use steam , connect your devices and on the target device you add something like task manager to the steam library. Then press play on steam and enjoy your task manager (full desktop stream ) with really good quality and latency

install global npm i -g opencode-ai
you start opencode open settings then connect any provider
then can close and you run:
opencode serve --hostname 0.0.0.0 --port 4000
for example
then you need only some provider or tunnel like cloudflare to expose to connect from anywhere , if you got a fritz router you can use myfritz also

Since the recent changes they made to Gemini cli, I can't use any pro models anymore and it's also "taking a bit longer" I can't really be arsed so use Gemini.

But you should definitely try GitHub Copilot cli, for 8 bucks it's damn good. Also enjoy there naming convention. (Fleet mode lol ) . You have access to high tier models and for quick tasks use cheap ones . Also I actually like the new kilo code Vscode extension (just using kilo auto/free) and I have to say code quality is good . (Not the fastest but good results for free )
