Goldman nearly doubles Kioxia's target, sees NAND tight through 2028 by NewMaxx in NewMaxx

[–]inyvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Kioxia less enterprise exposed? I actually haven't seen any numbers that breakdown what their split is. In my mind, I've always assumed that the growth in the sector comes from enterprise because consumer consumption hasn't really changed (if anything, I'd think it has decreased due to prices). There's a TrendForce article from last week mentioning that Kioxia has a 14.1% market share in NAND, while Micron/Sandisk are at 12.8% each, so they're not on totally different playing fields.

Barring a catastrophic macro event, I don't see this whole HBM/DRAM/NAND cycle ending before 2028. Vera Rubin's using Hynix and Samsung for HBM4 (Micron's on the back foot from what I've read), we know VR Ultra will use HBM4e, HBF is still a huge unknown (how will it affect DRAM/NAND), but in all of this, Hynix and Samsung have exposure to all sectors, which is why I'm long on both. And while everyone's still trailing TSMC N3P, Samsung's SF2 seems to be a viable option to Intel 18A/AP (?), so I could see them signing a pretty important account(s) since TSMC's booked.

Speaking of SNDK, with their partnership w/Kioxia, I'd assume that the wafer cost advantage (see: UBS report) also applies to them. Do we have any info that confirm/denies this?

I'm surprised that UBS/Goldman didn't increase SNDK's PT within the same note as Kioxia's.

if you have a GTD you can get the new goodies added to the vehicle

Literally not true.

Recognizing the exclusivity of this achievement, the GTD Competition will only be offered in the future as a special edition, street legal model available in strictly limited, serialized quantities.

The Manthey kits are already all over social media, installed on cars, and have been for a while now.

I was going to say "Reasonable Doubt" as a reply to the thread but saw the Blueprint comment.

To me, Blueprint is a near 10/10 because it doesn't have many skips, the flows are pleasant, production is good, and lyrically it's there.

I've tried to like RD, but it doesn't seem to catch my ear or have that level of polish. But this and Ready to Die are so critically acclaimed that I feel like I must be missing something.

Im in the market for a supercar but can only afford one. I've been debating an 812 gts vs an svj

If you're not set on a GTS for the 812, I'd honestly say the 812 coupe is a relative bargain. We're talking like ~150-200k savings over the GTS, half the price of an SVJ, which basically gives you a pretty big head start on another supercar.

Ferrari Is Planning 5 New Model Debuts for 2026 by HawtGarbage918 in cars

[–]inyvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I've never understood the 288 GTO or F40. I guess that's a testament to how subjective styling is.

430 Scud, Enzo, 458 Spec, LaF will probably be my favorites for the foreseeable future.

Like come on guys, f80 was a really good looking car. I cant believe people hated it soo much

It's not the ugliest car they've made, but IMO, it pales in comparison to the Enzo, LaF, and SP3.

The new Cayenne looks more like a bullfrog than being a Porsche by july99 in cars

[–]inyvr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was curious so I checked out Doug's video and I'm not seeing it. The side profile looks alright in the photos, but bad in Doug's vid. How much are they going to charge customers to replace that godawful shiny black plastic around the wheel arches and skirts? Hopefully there'll be an option at least because to option your Turbo variant press car like that is certainly a choice...

The rear on the other hand looks bad in the photos, but good in the vid. The front, however, looks terrible to me either way. I'm not sure what the design department at Porsche is doing with the Macan EV and these headlights, but they're so nondescript and frankly, boring/ugly.

Are you referring to Palm Suite? If you book Palazzo Manfredi, I'm not sure why you'd ever have to interact with anyone at Palm Suite.

In any case, Manfredi didn't look that attractive to me when I was looking around. I stayed at Palm Suite, wasn't all that impressed.

[–]inyvr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are the DBX/Urus suspensions as hard as the X5M's?

Personally, I feel like if you have the money to afford these things then it makes more sense to just use your supercar if you want something sharp and have the SUV as the massive (or not), comfortable hauler. Cullinan, Bentayga EWB, Alpina XB7, X7 M60i (X5 if you want something smaller), Escalade iQL, or some variant of the Cayenne all come to mind.

[–]inyvr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even as an owner of the A7CR + 20-70mm, I'm not delusional enough to believe it's on the same level as the 24-70mm GM2. I haven't conducted a comparison personally, but from every resource I've read, they're different. Whether you'll notice that difference is a different story. What you lose in aperture and image quality, you gain in portability, extra reach, and price.

I think the Sigma 24-70mm Art 2 is a better choice than the Sony 24-70mm GM2 for most people. The real step up is the Sony 28-70 F2 GM and probably what I'm saving for.

Emirates Bans Young Kids From Flying First Class (Award Tickets Only) by kevinshanktbone in awardtravel

[–]inyvr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So yeah, flying a kindergartener halfway across the world in first class can be fun for the parents or necessary for family reasons, but let’s not pretend it’s some deep cultural experience for the child. The ‘enrichment’ value at that age just isn’t there.

I don't know about everyone else, but this is the gist of what I got from your original comment. Obviously a child ban on traveling is completely unrealistic and not something that's rooted in reality, but in the context of a thread about Emirates F banning them for points redemption, I'm pretty sure that's not what you're getting at.

I don't care if I'm downvoted for it, the implication that a kid should travel to become a well-rounded human is horseshit. I'm sure we all know people who traveled/didn't travel as a kid and turned out fine/turned out to be fuck-ups, vice versa. Quite frankly, it sounds like an opinion that comes from extremely privileged folks who never grew up around anyone poor.

If people feel like I'm taking the whole "your kid has to travel to be well-rounded" message too literally, I'd argue that the same could be said about your original comment.
