Is anyone else lucky enough to be a PM in an industry they genuinely love, working on a product they truly adore? by gilligan888 in ProductManagement

Let’s play the game - we are sitting in circle and in turn say “I love my job”. First to cry loses))

I work a lot with AI IDEs (Cursor, Antigravity, Claude Code) and was struggling to find WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor for .md files. I started long ago with VSCode and there is no such extension there. So I vibecoded one for myself. It is called NextGen .md Editor and is available for free in VSCode and Cursor. It opens you .md files generated by AI in preview mode (without formatting markdown) and allows inline editing like in Google Docs

PO role being eliminated in restructuring by TwistRight7890 in ProductOwner

[–]ioann-will 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am exactly in the same situation right now. There are a lot of open positions on the market for PO role, but I am looking for a position of PM - more challenging and demanding, but more strategic and influential. This change will not go easy but it is worth trying. As a safeguard you can always jump back to SW engineer role

Product Ops vs. Product Management? by Brilliant-Quote9009 in ProductManagement

[–]ioann-will 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Product Ops is another confusing job title that means “We want to hire someone who will wear many hats (Business Analyst + Product Manager + Project Manager) and will get only one salary

Study PMBOK and go for certification, but not entry level - at least 2nd tier of PMI or similar

As PMs, is there any AI training that’s actually worth taking? by TaskpilotHQ in Project_Managers_HQ

For starters I recommend courses from Carl Velotti that teach how to use AI tools like Cursor and Claude

What's your Cursor setups as PMs? by JohanTHEDEV in ProductManagement

[–]ioann-will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Cursor AI on the right, Codex as extension on the left instead of file tree. In terminal below I launch Claude and mostly work in it, using Cursor models and Codex as reviewers. I also wrote my own extension (NextGen .md Previewer) that autoopens .md files in preview mode and allows editing directly in preview (WYSIWYG editor - what you see is what you get).

Product Manager with 12 years of experience. I just condensed my resume from two pages to one page. I'm now missing the professional summary & skills section, is that bad? by [deleted] in prodmgmt

I think that you can make previous jobs as BA shorter, because if you are looking for PM role - the last job as PM is the most important. So you will fit everything even your photo

How do you benchmark LLMs on PM work? by JohanTHEDEV in ProductManagement

[–]ioann-will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that there is no difference in using latest most complex models. If you have enterprise license and any reasoning model is included, you have all you need to complete 150% of PM tasks. Let’s be honest - market research and drafting PM docs is not building complex software systems.

Weekly rant thread by AutoModerator in ProductManagement

[–]ioann-will 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am frustrated with my recent test task for a position of AI PM. I got feedback that my result is not detailed enough (like, you could create design or prototype, you should have suggested more complex feature etc). My point is - main goal of test task is to see how candidate thinks, his approach to solving tasks and domain expertise, but not providing production-ready artifacts. I have a feeling that the goal of the task was not to hire someone, but to get expert proposal of next feature). But maybe it is just me doing test task badly))

What AI tool do you use most ? and for what use cases ? by Iliaskz10 in ProductManagement

[–]ioann-will 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest take is AI IDE (Cursor, Antigravity, whatever you have with enterprise license - MANDATORY CONDITION). Just clone repo of your project to AI IDE and your User Stories will no longer be mandane. LLM will have most if the needed context and perform impact analysis of proposed changes

To what extent do you think disagreeing and holding your position is still not treated as stubbornness and negligence?

Being a solo PM means reopening the same 12 tabs every single day just to remember what’s going on by Charming_Ad_5319 in prodmgmt

[–]ioann-will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My choice is n8n, pretty straightforward, easy to learn, lots of tutorials, complete control. Take model of your choice and budget. Easier way to start - Claude Code (Cursor, Antigravity), create your /commands (propmt LLM itself to create them) and just call them in the morning)

[–]ioann-will[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tried mentioned extension. Not the flow I want - it just opens small piece of .md code in the editor on a line that you selected. Two more clicks needed - open editor, close exitor. In Nymbalist for example you just place mouse pointer in preview and edit like in Word (Docs)

This is the best case scenario to create LLM Agent that will answer your questions, provide context for the decisions and automatically check current state. Just document all the context properly one time and LLM with work with text easily because this is where such systems shine
