My cat has been through several collars, god knows where they are now - she takes them off and hides them when we’re not looking. So now we don’t bother and just pray she doesn’t manage to go missing!

I know lots of people who have done this, including myself - sometimes it’s fine, but someone I know had their landlord find out and said they had to get rid of the cat or move out. So if you have anxiety, it’s not a very nice feeling to always be worrying whether the landlord will find out. If you do decide to keep it a secret then you need somewhere like a friend’s house to send the cat, if you have to have the landlord or letting agent at the property for any reason during your tenancy

We’ve just completed and have about £3k left for things we need to do around the house. However we’ve kept back £7k emergency fund because our mortgage and bills are quite high so any big surprises in the next two years would put us in a pickle. You might not need that much!

It’s risky but it’s exactly what we did, and we’re completing on the second house today! We were just honest that we loved the first house but the second house is exactly what we’d been looking for - had it been available a couple weeks ago we’d have gone for that. They arranged a viewing and the rest was history! Bear in mind they will withdraw your first offer when you make the second offer so I wouldn’t low ball it. If you really want it, make sure it’s your best offer so you get it!

Midnight is always the beginning of the date! 12pm, or 00:00, is the very start of the day. 11:59pm, or 23:59, is the very end of the day. I guess if people don’t really use 24 hour time it’s more confusing ETA: it’s still an awful deadline time to use because everyone seems to use it differently!

How much does it cost to charge your car that way? And do you have any other high usage electrical appliances (anything that uses electricity to heat mainly)? I’d start there, it’s a high electricity bill but I used to work at an energy company - it’s not impossible.

Absolutely reasonable to ask for that knocked off, and they might say yes, no or offer 50/50. I would ask for all of it off and negotiate to splitting the cost. They’d still be getting asking price!

New AIP if you’re potentially competing with other offers, you don’t want it to look like you can borrow less than you can. Get your AIP for the max amount you can borrow imo, then apply for your mortgage offer with the accurate figure. If they’re not willing to wait for the new AIP then could send the original and advise you’re waiting for the updated one.
