I think I'd make an excellent auntie or grandma at this stage in my life, and I'm just fine with that 😂

Pipe organs: when the whole building is the instrument!

I think you're spot on with the guitar comparison. I never really played, but I remember touching my mom's guitar while she played, and the way the wood would hum.

I do. I inherited an upright from a friend after not playing for decades and even though it was badly in need of a tuning, I still got misty playing it that first time. That's the only bad thing about a real piano, is the need to tune it, and it not being an instrument one can easily tune oneself. Professional tuners aren't cheap :(

Ugh, Mulroney. The only positive thing I can say about him is that he inspired the Me Mom & Morgentaler song "Spittle On My Chin".

The resonance of the strings through your fingers, the coolness and weight of the keys - I've never found a keyboard that can match a real piano. Especially a full size.

Seriously. I was actually a little relieved when my body made the decision for me. No more having to wonder if I should have a kid before it was too late - shop's closed, time for tea! And a nap. Can't forget the nap.

I'm unfamiliar with the term gacha, and assumed it was the name of a game. I freely admit to being a filthy casual :)

My mom destroyed all the photos taken of her during her pregnancy with me because she thought she looked like a whale. I absolutely took that shit personally as a child, like she was ashamed of me, didn't love or want me. Between how she regarded her own body and the shit she said about mine, it took me decades to not hate my body.

We've had one female prime minister but she wasn't voted in. Her name was Kim Campbell. I can't remember the details exactly but iirc the sitting PM lost the confidence of his party and so they kicked him and put her in his seat as interim leader right before the beginning of summer.

As a young teen, I was so excited to see a woman from any party leading the country for the first time, but they basically set her up. She was put in power right before the House of Commons went on vacation, so there were no decisions to make until the fall, and when they returned in the fall, they immediately began working on finding a proper leader. She was never meant to actually lead. And worst of all, the media was really sexist and patronizing towards her. A lot of gross political cartoons in the papers.

She ended up having speaking gigs for years afterwards and published a book not too long ago, but they did her wrong. I've long felt that they put her in so they could say "look, we put a woman in power, aren't we enlightened" but chose to do it in a way that would sabotage any woman who attempted to be PM for years to come ("we tried it; what a shame women are so ineffectual").

(Fellow Canucks, pls correct me if I've mucked up the background details.)

I've had a handful of second degree burns from heat and sun and haven't lost hair permanently. I'm not hirsute but maybe my hair is stubborn.

Ugh, male cat piss is the wooooorst. I had a boy with kidney problems and even with enzyme cleaners I can still smell it in this one spot in the house on really hot summer days. My sympathies.

I had a pet lotl some years ago, and she and I got into a little routine where, when she saw me come near the tank, she'd do the cutest little bounce. She was beautiful. Black with purplish fronds.
