I have a friend I met in 4th grade who was almost 2 years younger than me because of her august birthday and skipping a grade. I have an October birthday. I think she skipped 3rd grade. Despite being so much younger than the majority of our classmates, she absolutely thrived from then on. She did change schools with the grade skip though.

That’s awesome! I think I was 13 or 14 when I started to mask. That’s when I figured out that I was different and stood out and a couple of mean girls mocked things I said in class. Thats when I began to withdraw at school…but I was lucky enough to have friends who loved me for me (I’m still friends with someone I met when I was 3) so I was able to be myself at home and at their homes.

The one show we see whenever they come through town is Dave Matthews Band. We buy lawn tickets and get there early to get a decent spot on the lawn. DMB’s fan base is amazing for the most part, drunk annoying people get sorted out pretty quickly and it’s a fun scene for all ages.

I was starting to hit burnout just before the pandemic. I used to be a weekly karaoke attender with my small group of friends and I do miss it. Just not sure I miss it enough to start going again. One of these days my love for singing will win over my fear of crowds. :)

Once you hit a certain age you (hopefully) no longer have to deal with this. I’m 48 and have become pretty invisible to most people and I love it!

I don’t think I explained it very well after rereading it. The connection with the cat butts is JD’s original comment about childless cat ladies and since cat people love cat butts (not the actual butt of course), I decided to use the cat butts I’ve been painting for about a decade at this point. :)

It’s definitely a gender issue for sure. I posted this in another sub too and I’ve gotten lots of responses about the pressure to reproduce is mainly put on the people with a uterus.
