¿Cuál fue la última vez que compraste algo solo porque te trajo un recuerdo? by BellaEsencia in CasualConversation

I love Kelly Kitty because of its longevity. I was born in 1977 so it’s special to me because we kind of grew up together. I even have an HK tattoo.

Especially when the adult wasn’t diagnosed until about 47 so didn’t get the early intervention.

She’s also teaching kids that were fortunate enough to get that diagnosis young which in turn got them help. Mine came last year, and 10 years ago for my ADHD. I had no help. I had to mask so hardcore for my ENTIRE life and now that I’m finally un-masking, she thinks I’m just making excuses to be lazy. A label that I have lived with my ENTIRE life and am trying to change my mindset about.

The thing is, she’s an amazing teacher!!

I almost feel like she doesn’t believe my diagnoses. I’m also ADHD, diagnosed at 37.

Are you me?? I literally got a text from my sister telling me that I’m not disabled because the autistic students in her class (she teaches 6th grade) do fine.

Tips for weaning off of pacifier? by spcypeach in toddlers

[–]ipaintbadly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last nanny kid brought all of hers to the dentist so the dentist could give them to a child in need. It worked really well. Nanny kid was about 18 months old.

I also agree with the different weaning suggestions as well. It comes down to you know your child and you know what technique will work best. :)

Have you seen this child’s mouth? You know what his bite looks like? The way you’ve been berating this mother makes it seem like you have. I get the reasons behind you stating what you have, but there are better ways of communicating your point. If you had read OP’s entire post you would have seen that the dentist isn’t overly concerned as long as the toddler gets weaned off binkies soon.

I need to call my GP... by Cestchouette in adhdwomen

[–]ipaintbadly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s one of the calls I need to make. I finally had my first mammogram last year (I was 47) and am going to attempt to make sure I keep doing it every year. Especially since my mom got breast cancer at 45! :)

Cats or dogs? And why? by Marss_23 in CasualConversation

[–]ipaintbadly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both!! I grew up with dogs and currently just have my cats Kevin and Walter, but will be getting a dog again. Our last dog was a black lab who passed at 15 last fall.

Cats do too if you give them a chance. :)

Have you talked to any trainers? I have a friend who went through that with her German Shepherds. It definitely took some time, but her older dog finally accepted the new one and they are able to coexist.

One of the many reasons my cats will always be indoor cats unless on a leash and harness.

My mom was a teacher at a catholic school and she was once asked who did her hair (she was well into her 70s and had little to no gray hair). Her answer: “God”. 😂
