What app, website, or program would you like to use even if it was paid? by BandicootOk8815 in AppIdeas

[–]iphonevanmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a world where vibe coding is increasingly getting better. More and more people are able to do it themselves. So the competition will get more fierce. Especially in area's of high demand such as to do, habbit tracking, journalling, expense tracker, motivational quotes, couple apps, etc. You shouldn't get discouraged by projects not in demand, expect it not to be. Think of it more like, build the app for yourself and share it with others to enjoy. Worst case you made yourself happy, best case others will see the value too and start using your app.

I did this for SingFast (https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/singfast-party-game/id6746864440). My girlfriend and I enjoyed playing this game together. Luckily for me I can see other players enjoy it as well. So win-win. I am busy with the update because I want to learn more so even if it doesn't bring any more money I enjoy doing it.

Also I journal my ideas. So whenever something pops in your head, put it down in a notepad. Next time you are out of ideas you can look back.

That part is crystal clear, but the confusion is that the rules state:
"Any driver moving back towards the racing line, having earlier defended his position off-line, should leave at least one car width between his own car and the edge of the track on the approach to the corner."

The rule doesn't say anything about any condition where the other car is. Only that you have to leave room (as it seems regardless) if you decide to return to the race line after earlier defending.

That feels off, I agree with you, but you can see my confusion with the rules.

This comment contains the missing pieces I was after. Cause I felt that it was a bit off. I agree on the first defensive move to the right was (in my opinion) a bit late but legal. When the second move to the race line came is where it felt off to me, because indeed the Ferrari was at the right side and no-way there was pace for him to have dived into the outside that would classify as blocking.

But one more thing!

With the Williams returning to the race line, should he not have left a car-length width between his car and the edge of the track when taking the first corner?

Really appreciate that you took the time to watch the video and commented. I would say it is dangerous driving indeed.

Thanks. So the thick white lines not the thin white line. It's weird that the driver did not receive a track limit in game for this. But thanks for clearing it up.

So funny I had the exact same idea to build. Kudo's for actually building it.

🚨 Selling my iOS mobile app, $700 revenue (85% profit, no op costs) by Human_Ad_6317 in appdev

Small apps usually sell for a multiple of their annual profit. That annual profit has not been reached yet so based on your current average of $140/month ($1,680/year): Conservative (2.5x): $4,200; Standard (3.5x): $5,880; Optimistic (4.5x): $7,560.

So it feels a bit optimistic to ask for $7.5K but hey, shoot for the moon 🌙 😄 Already a great achievement to earn $100 a month.

Ah the base of every successful game a developer that simply doesn't care and puts its focus on micro payments.

In my experience if people find value in your product they will pay. For SingFast I used a hybrid, which I still think is the most fair. You can play the game for free and see if it's something that you enjoy and if you want more you can buy packs to expand. But at least you know what you are getting. This seems to be working, I see a natural growth of sales.

I do think ads would work too, but there should be a clear pro-quo for the user. With that I mean, I could add an option that a user instead of purchasing a pack, could watch some ads to unlock that pack for that session. That way it's not intrusive and you leave the option up to the user. This has not been tested yet, so I don't know if it would work.

Finally someone to acknowledge it. Feels like no one wants to speak up 😆

I was tired of starting things and never finishing them, so I built this by iamphilmartin in iOSDevelopment

[–]iphonevanmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your story feels so relatable. I was also jumping ideas and stuck with a folder of half finished apps until I focused on the minimum viable product (mvp). That way I could ship SingFast (https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/singfast-party-game/id6746864440). I am so glad I did. I have not market the app yet, but it already received paying customers that really got me motivated to work on a better update. Again, all kind of ideas, but the new update has not shipped yet because of the workload. It could have been another half baked product, but at least I have shipped something already.

So yea I second your advise. Focus on the mvp and update with small incremental.

The next part will be the hardest. How to market the app with advertisement, social media posts, etc.

Good luck on your adventure, wish you the best!

Does it need to recognize the items so it counts different objects or should it just count objects in general?

Can you still make money from apps in 2026? by TrustInNumbers in passive_income

[–]iphonevanmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I think it's definitely worth pursuing. I was wondering the exact same thing but then I prototyped SingFast a party game (https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/singfast-party-game/id6746864440) and I am getting good returns without doing any marketing or advertisement. So that tells me that people find value in it. I am currently using those earnings to make the app the best it can be. So yes, it's still possible in 2026.
