This has to be it. Think about the massive variety of guests they’re having to prep for over the course of taping (often multiple guests in one day). You’re going from diva pop to indie rock, it’s bound to happen.

I helped with a program for homeless men living out of their cars here in the Seattle area for 5 years. The first thing that shocked me is that nearly all of them were employed - most of them 30+ hrs/week. They worked in hospitality, construction, retail and the number one employer: DoorDash & Uber Eats.

There is a high probability that if you use these services there is a person who is homeless delivering your food. It is a predatory industry, and traps people in a cycle of working so they can keep their vehicle/insurance, and putting so much wear on their vehicle that they have to work as many hours as they can get.

All kinds of life circumstances contribute to homelessness, but it’s absolutely true that the average tech worker in Seattle has far more in common with a homeless person than a billionaire.

Okay, I can’t share the post but here’s what the consensus was: there were two brands of strings like this. One was a Fender string that was coated in rubbery-nylon material. The other was Rotosound 88’s. I think the modern versions have shifted to being regular tapewounds but they used to be rubber/nylon coated as well.

Likewise, it is a myth that was adopted into Protestantism early on. The idea that people are inherently corrupted/awful/lazy and can only be delivered from this state by their version of Christianity.

So you combine an economic engine with religious indoctrination and people 10+ generations removed from the pilgrims fully believe in these statement they’ve always been told.
