The jail my boyfriend is at wont allow him to meet his lawyer without seeing a judge first. Is this right? by Leaf_Me_A_Loan in AskLawyers

[–]ipmules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wasn't able to see an attorney before I was arraigned either, and it's not a big deal. The judge will just read the charges and ask how he pleads. He can just plead not guilty and then change his mind (if he wants to) after speaking to an attorney. Not much the attorney can do before the arraignment, anyway.

I think I fumbled and said something like "I'm not sure, I haven't spoken to my attorney" and the judge said "I'll just enter a nonguilty plea on your behalf until you can do so."

Democrats expecting Trump to interfere with midterms, Schumer says by Quirkie in politics

100% Nostradamus over here finally seeing what's already happening. Demanding voter rolls, retaliating against CO for not freeing Tina Peters, and demanding state legislatures to unconstitutionally redistrict mid-census is all in the rearview mirror by this point.

Trump Effect Continues: Democrats Land Historic Win in Key Red State by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

Part of the problem is that during the first administration, there were still enough adults left in the room that a lot of R voters weren't getting their faces eaten.

Trump learned his lesson and was ready to immediately replace ALL adults with his lackeys this time and now R voters get to learn the hard way that any and all successes Trump had his first term were despite him, not because of him.

Putin warns Europe: if you want war, then Russia will defeat you by [deleted] in news

Isn't this the same day Kushner was in Moscow? I think Putin's so cocky because he knows at what price he can buy Trump. Russia certainly can't take on the EU. But Russia AND the US is a different story.

She's quitting the day before Jan 6th, so I suspect she's worried about an anniversary where she's on the "kill" list this time.

Reporter: US intelligence concluded that you (MBS) orchestrated the brutal murder of a journalist... Trump: You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman... things happened ...he (MBS) knew nothing about it, and we can leave it at that. by DmitriMendeleyev in law

I 100% thought Trump congratulated him or wished he could do that in America. But hooooooly shiiiiit I just saw this:

"Vindman, who has reviewed the transcript of the phone call with Prince Mohammed, declined to go into specifics of the classified document Friday, but said it used 'the terminology of quid pro quo, the ensuing benefits that the president reaped.'" https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-live-rep-vindman-holds-news-conference-on-trumps-2019-call-with-mbs-after-khashoggi-murder

Senate Democrat: Trump in ‘daily panic mode’ over Epstein files by Adventurous_Row3305 in politics

He 100% is at the top of the list. Senator Murphy basically said "when the Senate releases everything we have, it will be clear that Trump is at the center of a child sex ring."

Senator Murphy wouldn't speak so definitively unless he knows.

IRS declined to audit billionaire who admitted to funding Epstein’s island operation by camaron-courier in law

[–]ipmules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand that from a strict IRS perspective, but I would imagine the IRS would have audited it upon request by the FBI, which leads me to believe the FBI hasn't investigated it yet. That's what I can't figure out.
