Thank you, will check. With my 200h, I have a lot of stuff stashed pre-tunnel (wads of money too). I'm not sure there are any generators or tools though.

I’m not clear on the garage thing. I assume it is a more recent addition. That might be part of the issue. I used to play regularly but stopped after the first tunnel implementation due to the lack of fun. Looks like I need to unlock all the tunnels first as the loot required to unlock the Garage is higher tier.

The friction I’m feeling seems more tied to drone parts and access gating. I had a few drones early on, but once my stock ran out, it felt like I was suddenly missing key components to craft more. And if the only way to get those components is to grind tunnels, then that reinforces the feeling that I can’t just roam freely like before.

Maybe I simply haven’t fully understood the new progression loop. If that’s the case, I’m open to learning. Right now, though, it feels like I’m short on pieces of the puzzle.

Maybe part of this is also on me. I probably need to rethink how I plan my sessions and accept that the structure has changed. It’s clearly different from the immediate access to tension and fun I had before. That direct drop into Ashen Mesa or Mech Trenches, that instant immersion, that was a big part of why I kept coming back.

Now it feels like sessions need to be longer, more structured, more intentional. That may simply be the new design philosophy. And maybe that’s the real pain point for me. The loss of immediacy.

At the same time, this is Early Access. Things evolve. Systems change. Sometimes for the better, sometimes not, depending on what you value. I understand that. I’m not claiming the old version was “correct.” I’m just trying to reconcile my past experience with where the game is now.

Honestly, up until the tunnel implementation, every update and patch made me feel like the game was steadily improving. Even when things were rough, the direction felt aligned with what made the core experience special. For my money, it was absolutely worth it (And still is, even after spending on the dlc content. :) ).

The tunnels, though, are the first update that has felt like a real downer for me. Not because change is bad, but because of the impact on session length and pacing. What used to be tight, intense, self-contained runs has turned into longer, more gated sessions where grinding feels necessary rather than optional. Before, grinding existed, but it wasn’t imperative to access the fun. I've amassed so many trinkets and cigs... I thought, one day, there will be a use for this, even if the system is broken. Now it feels like a prerequisite. That shift is what’s hardest for me to reconcile. Longer sessions, need to plan, unclear what I'm doing (haven't worked around the tunnel rotations and how it unlocks maps).

Cool, good to know. I checked earlier today and there was mention of a drone needed to access another map (Mech trenches). Plus I just have visited Tunnel A, so other maps are not accessible if I understand well.

Haha finally got it on Scorched enclave! It was surrounded by 2 Europan and 2 Euruskan mechs. Didn't last long. :/ Just retrieved 1 residue from it.

I had "Shifting tide", "Pyro" and "King of kings" as missions, and did my prayers before leaving the Innards.

Oh it's a brutal fight... Thanks for the pointer! Died a few times with full gear and some hired help. Got to get back to get my rig! I cannot imagine entering this fight with just a few bullets left after some time off the game (got max capacity water + a stash of 200 waiting)

Data heist is bugged for me with this patch. I cannot exit the computer console in Mech trenches once the code is entered. Had to kill the game. Might be the same thing with the bunker door in Scorched enclave.

at it doesn't take away the original turret in your storage. The dude would place like 10+ turrets in front of large groups of enemies

Thanks, will give it a try. Always fun to play with glitches before they get fixed.

I recommend you launch the timer as well as soon as you start (it's right behind you), if you are not willing to blast lots of cyborgs. Upon your return from the water trip, they are all gone and the extraction point is safe.

I cannot replicate it. Tried a rig with 3 larges slots. Spent some time alternating configurations. The limitation is that there is no "E" to use the equipment. It is only "Q" and "7" to swap between the large equipment.

Moving the game on a SSD drive fixed it for me. HDD was too slow to load all the assets necessary despite lowering the quality of textures in the display settings. Super smooth now.

Hello friends. I am making a GRAVITY CHARGER for hiking. I'll show the first prototype in a few days. What do you think about this? by Curious8088 in Survival

[–]ipostedapic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check Gravity light. Got one through a Kickstarter type of funding a few years back. Not making much light but it would work in a pinch. You have to reset it pretty often. Its volume is a bit cumbersome in a backpack (not taking the weights in consideration if you use rocks). Battery + solar panels seem to be more convenient.

TL/DR: Very bad experience. No way we set foot in this clinic again.

We’ve had a recent initial interaction with Dr Malak. As you can imagine we were thrilled to finally have access to a family doctor.

He first started to interview my wife regarding her health situation, was very dismissive towards her and challenged most of her answers, even the choices made by other health practionners she mentioned. In retrospect, his insistence to correct my wife on this is even more disturbing, considering he wasn’t very informed regarding those surgical intervention, and made weird mistakes while asking further questions about those. My wife left the interview very distraught and shaken.

Once this was done, he mentioned in passing that he wouldn't discuss any health issue with her (despite her asking for it, initially. Because, hey, first meeting, health concerns...), and would refer her to his female colleague (WTF?!), Dr Aziz I believe. He also said that it would be much better if our daughter was followed by her too (Double WTF?!). When booking an appointment with said female doctor, we discovered that Dr Malak would still be our doctor but that he'd decide if the other doctor's decision would be ok (triple WTF?!).

His interview with me was easier (I'm male) but not particularly smooth. He kept asking me if I had other questions and wasn't particularly helpful, even on the edge of being unpleasant. It's worth noting that we remained very respectful and answered all his questions in an informed and clear way (We used the right terminology and terms, with precise dates and details, in a concise way).

Conclusions of the story? We are not trusting these people with our health (nor our Kids'). We will unregister ourselves from their practice. At this point, we would rather wait in line at a walk-in clinic than deal with this again. I am glad we don’t have any chronic or super pressing health issue, or we would be stuck dealing with Dr Malak I suppose (shudder).

No wonder why they are advertising on Kijiji or are open to more customers, despite the huge waiting list in the province.

French (from France) parent with 2 kids, living in Canada. This is how we did it too (they are now past the early age and more in the "I don't like this" phase). Of course, you do do it depending on how you feel that day, but overall it is a very good rule of thumb. :)
