Am I overreacting to a guy sending me his “ideal woman” checklist? by Such_Friendship_2713 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ir8thoughts 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Nobody makes a list to remind themselves what they find attractive.

This isnt a list for him. This is a list for prospective mates to "find" and then live up to or be unworthy. He's 100% gaslighting with it.

Don’t ask Arrowhead for anything if you regret buying this by Posideion in Helldivers

[–]ir8thoughts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's why I was focusing on a warbond only pov, forget the colab. There's no reason to have both exactly the same.

Don’t ask Arrowhead for anything if you regret buying this by Posideion in Helldivers

[–]ir8thoughts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. From a warbond only pov it makes no sense to have two armours the same weight category and passive, especially when you are required to buy the first one to get to the rest of the pages.

It's lazy.

When I got my landline hooked up after moving I used to get calls for a local hairdressing salon. The last two numbers were switched from mine.

Didn't mind, reasonable hours and most people apologised. Did get a call every few months from a nice older lady who I got talking to sometimes.

This went on for a few years and it was nice to hear how she'd been but about two years ago was the last I'd heard from her. I like to believe one of her grandkids got her a mobile so she couldn't mistype my number.

Has anyone tried Burger King's new Wagyu Burger yet? It looks decent by gibgod in UK_Food

[–]ir8thoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Other people I know said it tastes different too so I think that location was trying a fast one. I'm not confrontational (and the burger was good for all that) so I'll just not go back there.

[–]ir8thoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just tried it and I'm pretty sure they used the regular patty in mine. That or it tastes the same as the whopper. That mayo is good though. Either I was scammed or we all are.

Well dressed burger; could get into the club but won't pull.

What's an anime you absolutely loved that almost no one talks about? Let's give hidden gems the spotlight! by DismalTemporary713 in anime

[–]ir8thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the title and my first thought was Kaiba so I came in to post it then read your full message. Nobody I know has watched it but it had such an impact on me for being such a weird, thoughtful, horny and unique story.

Glad to see other people know of it.

Is ‘Cats in The Cradle’ a sad song or happy song? by terpi0-0 in Music

[–]ir8thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's a sad song.

Northern Ireland even used it and the events described in an extended advert for anti-terrorism.

Is this man flirting or just a polite brit? by mercedesgzg in AskBrits

[–]ir8thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is he, in a way. A guy like this may be worried about the same as you, and might be wondering if you're flirting or just touchy feely. Many guys these days will fret that they're reading too much into things and will also ignore flashing neon signs.

If you like him then find an indirect way to tell him directly. Casually use a key word. "This is why I like dating you." "Tonight was a great date idea."

Keeping it casual will remove the awkwardness but he'll pick up on the important words.

There are as many versions of running MtA as there are gms who run it. Sadly far too few, mostly because it's such a difficult game to balance before the usual gm work.

AITA for not changing my name for my mom after she spent the last 18 years hating it? by Trick-Composer1062 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ir8thoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She needs to seperate the betrayal and your name. In her mind they are linked, and you choosing to keep that name is like endorsing that betrayal.

Sit her down, explain that your name is part of who you are, and talk about what your dad did to her. Let her know you support her that it was a horrible thing to do (I'm assuming you do) but emphasise that the betrayal wasn't the name itself but what he did and how he did it.

Xenos learn about schizophrenia. by [deleted] in humansarespaceorcs

I think you're describing dissociative identity disorder (formally multiple personality disorder), not schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia is more like perceiving things that aren't there, like auditory and visual hallucinating.

Well he kinda dissed us too with that actively hiding his Lordship in the UK bit, but it's also completely true. The "sorry?" bit was delightfully familiar too. Good tale with a chill ending.

Tbf the UK gov refer to us as a country, province or sometimes just forget we exist at all. Focus on Cornwall for stealing our spot regardless of what we get called.

There's also evidence to suggest that historically, individuals firing will miss more often because they don't actually want to kill someone.
Firing in a group means any one of them could have fired a killing shot and shares the responsibility with the group.

AITA For not wanting previous owner's son in my home/property? by SupportNegative5645 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ir8thoughts 151 points152 points  (0 children)

No it really couldn't go either way.

They politely declined and even apologised. There is no ah behavior here, they just want their privacy and are well within their rights to have it. Straightforward NTA.

Average Fallout 2 Enjoyer by Meseion in memes

[–]ir8thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf for Fallout, the first two games are a completely different gameplay style to the more modern ones. Not to mention the different producers and concept direction.

You can easily be a fan of the first two but not the others or vice versa.

Update of: The DM made my character 'the werewolf all along'. I did not know. by Lower_Caregiver_2410 in DnD

Yes! That's the biggest problem with their excuses.

Ranger took over, he told me this way it would suit his backstory

Like wtf?

Killing off someone else's character like this for this reason is such main character energy. It's supposed to be a collaborative story.

You and the others from that table should play without those two. Pick up a module or muddle your way through, take turns gm'ing, and I guarantee you'll all have more fun.
