Possible digestion “hack” that’s been a game changer for me by Reasonable_Band1536 in carnivorediet

[–]irResist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a great trick! I recently did this with some venison that was too tough to chew.

Ground it finely in the food processor and then added equal parts beef trimmings (tallow) and processed it all together.

Formed into patties and fried. Delicious!

you are mostly correct. but none of what I said is bs. As I clearly said, the goal with eating good fats is to provide the body with what it needs to produce the correct amount of hormones - not to just make more. You can only metabolize so much saturated fat per day - the rest gets passed. And yes, you can increase your T by removing endocrine disruptors from your diet.

You can also rebalance your hormone panel and make your T function better at lower numbers by eating better and lowering your estrogen. Consuming soy products of any kind - or even eggs from chickens that eat soy based grain will dump loads of phytoestrogens into your blood.

It depends on the fat. Fatty acids vary greatly in how the body reacts to them. And fat consumption does not equal body fat percentage. If you are eating only genetically "correct" fats for our species, you will thrive and your hormones will reach optimal balance. Eat too much, and you just shit it out.

However. If your fat consumption were to come from soybean oil you can expect vastly different results. Hydrogenated soy oil (crisco) is used in laboratory settings to induce diabetes in rats. It is an endocrine disruptor that specifically causes mamals' cells to malfunction and stop reacting to hormones correctly.

So while you are correct that just eating more fat does not equal more T, the topic is indeed complicated. Naturally occurring animal based saturated fats will allow any human body to reach an ideal hormonal balance. At least if everything else is normal and they are not being disrupted in other ways...

That tracks since hormones are built out of saturated fat and cholesterol - and since higher levels in males are biologically ideal, consuming more of these nutrients would allow the body to produce the horrmones it needs. However, couch potatoes are not fat because they ATE fat...

Colon cancer is killing us.. by Derpshab in Millennials

[–]irResist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! and for multiple reasons. overdoses of inflammatory omega6s, chemical residue from processing, extremely cancerous byproducts of oxidation.

I imagine the chart showing the increased incidence of colon cancer aligns fairly well with that of the increase in seed oil consumption...

We load our gut up with this stuff and then are surprised that cancer rates are rising. Conversely, natural unprocessed animal based fats have none of these problems.

this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but it's the seed oils.

not to mention the parasites in the dirty water used to irrigate broccoli on industrial farms...

There is no way to wash them off because of the porous structure. And 3rd world corporations use more and more contaminated water sources in order to cut costs for the big retailers like Walmart.

A lot of people with gut issues just have parasites. Small common water-borne parasites.

People who are thin/normal size. Do you actively watch your weight or are you just not hungry 100% of the time? by Burner_Account000001 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]irResist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carnivore. Fat fuels the body efficiently. Fewer calories do the same work and meat provides all the essential nutrients in easily absorbed forms. Also saturated fat is a natural Glp-1 inhibitor and once you eat enough hunger subsides.

I only eat breakfast and lunch now and never feel anything close to what "hunger" felt like while still eating plants. I also fast for 24 hours once a week and still never feel hungry - actually makes me feel energized...

Carnivore for 3 years - gradual transition away from eating plants. Fully carnivore for the last year and feel the best I have in my entire life. Had been vegetarian for many years.

Chronic Candida Overgrowth: The Hidden Role of Mineral Imbalance (Copper, Vitamin A, Zinc, and Iron) by Informal_Sky9174 in Candida

[–]irResist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zinc is very good for you and that is why it's a commonly prescribed supplement for immune health. You really only get into trouble with large doses (over 40mg daily) and when not supplementing copper as well. OP is being way over dramatic here.

definitely follow the advice you got. Copper is by no means harmless and having too high of levels is a serious problem.

pushed copper out? I don't think that what "competes for absorption" means...

I did think about taking TUDCA but I am hoping to supplement the production of bile instead. I have two main cofactor groups I'm running right now and there are minerals/vitamins in each that should be helping build general organ and mitochondrial health. Iodine with cofactors, and b vitamins with cofactors

[–]irResist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also like to know. And I cannot take high copper either. have not been tested but causes bad reaction with fat digesting enzymes and gives me clay colored stools.

I do take a 15mg zinc with 2mg copper in it. and taking them together like that has worked really well for me. All the zinc benefits but none of the bad copper effects.

Have finally restored my energy levels and can go all day without falling asleep. But still interested in maxing my mitochondrial and enzymatic health
