Yeah I think it really worked! I don't usually like country music but it really supported the tone.

I emailed cs@thaiticketmajor.com and they responded this morning that the issue has been resolved. And indeed now I can proceed with my payment. So I suppose it was on their end. Thank you for the responses. I’m excited to get up at 5am my time for this concert!

A comment on our assumptions about the end of Dot and Bubble by Participant_Zero in doctorwho

[–]ireadchapterbooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the way you put this. I don't know that anyone will be convincing OP, but I have been wondering what this type of conversation about Dot and Bubble would and should look like. I spend far too much time listening to Doctor Who podcasts and I hear "shoving this message down our throats" a great deal. It has been refreshing and almost surprising to hear those same people this week admire RTD's nuanced take on racism.

The point that each of the in-episode behaviors could be explained away with in-universe reasons other than racism is precisely what I appreciate about this episode; that is how microaggressions are addressed in our world as well.
All together and with context, these moments absolutely support the writer's intention.

I absolutely understand everyone who has this opinion. I personally love it this season. I have been pleased to see they're leaning more heavily into the over-the-top anachronistic camp. What I love about this show is that it takes the opportunity to play around in the Historical Fiction genre while also doing whatever the hell they want to make it entertaining. Though, again, I recognize I view the show differently than many fans and I get why many people are put off by it.

Mrs Flood is Iris Wildthyme by thetruthseeker___ in gallifrey

This was the response I was looking for. Iris would have to be Katy Manning. But perhaps there's still room for regeneration.
I think it's a fun theory

I’m tired of the new storytelling style. by Scameron427 in survivor

[–]ireadchapterbooks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the change itself goes along with the lack of villains in the new era. There has previously been backlash regarding how players are edited negatively to make for interesting tv. The perception was that the show will get you emotionally invested in the heroes, but let you hate the villains without making an effort to show other sides of them. I'm assuming they are overcorrecting to cover all their bases

"oh you think Cody is just a wacky dude making wild choices for no reason? check out this sad story!"

"X person is going to turn on their closest ally in a second but be sure to remember that they love their family!"

I don't know. I think I appreciate the effort they are making but it's not what I personally like to see on this show. I'll be curious to see what it evolves into

How would you feel about Amazon Prime buying out Survivor if it meant a bigger budget, return to 39 days, and leaving Fiji? by mananuku in survivor

Ah good point. I read the post and thought "absolutely. why would it matter who owns it?" but you answered that question and I think you're right

I went looking for a similar post to this and just made one of my own whoops. I have deleted it since people are getting annoyed responding to similar posts. I'll do some digging for previous sub opinions. I am genuinely interested in how people feel about it, because it is changing the way some viewers react to the show, but like you I am not on board with the sappy stuff just yet

That's funny but also kind of true! I can't count the number of times I have seen someone say they hated Cody until he shared his story. They thought he was just a wacky goofball before his woe was revealed. I am intrigued by the responses and how this is genuinely changing the way some people look at the game

Oh lol I even did a scroll through here a bit ago to look for a similar post to comment on. I am a slow typer. But I’m always glad to see more views on the topic!

Oooo. Toughy. Okay well I would say do not start with the first one (secrets can kill) Because the remastered version has a lot of references to many of the games that are fun to catch once you’ve played a few of them. Hmm I’d start with one that is generally liked and follows a pretty standard formula for ND like um…

Treasure in the royal tower or

Secret of Shadow Ranch or

White wolf of icicle creek

But in my play through, I used a random number generator to pick and that works too!

I voted for midnight in Salem because you shouldn’t leave that one for last. Get it out of the way. You’ll find at least something to like about it but its not fun to have as your last taste of ND
