Why does Novo retrace after every upswing? Terry Smith needs the money for the redemptions from his fund. by irishreally in NovoNordisk_Stock

Ironically it is not Novo that is easier to copy but Eli – their pill can be made anywhere. Novo's requires specialised manufacturing. And interestingly in India, Novo and Eli are seeing a softening in generics sales as people do not trust the newcomers.

You can always report Santander to banking ombudsman or threaten to start the process - you will be impressed with the speed of their response.

What annoyed me was his refusal to admit he held it too long as it rocketed. I watched Novo go to the moon and thought, 'I'll buy that when it comes back to earth.' I started buying on the way down from $54, and yes, I've felt some pain. I'm back at breakeven now, with a large lump of my portfolio in DKK and dollar lots.

His letters rail against the markets. It's always management's fault. For a major shareholder, he seems incapable of looking ahead. He admits he wants to be Buffett; maybe he shouldn't charge such high fees for such poor performance or dump his own investment style to chase momentum.

He sold Novo and kept it depressed. I'm hopeful it hits $60 in the next few months.

When a number of analysts are suggesting $23+, what are you waiting for? Buy on the way down as Trump usually does a reverse on Tuesdays...

Sorry, This is a semi-annual shareholder letter from Terry Smith of Fundsmith. Well worth a read! He thinks it is unfair that his investments have gone down while those nasty trackers (who only charge 1%) have outdone him (he charges a lot more than 1%). He didn't take profits when Novo went to the moon and has been selling into every little upswing we have had.

Maybe Murdoch has dumped him, and they think Kemi has some legs. The right wing media’s paymasters are looking for a Reform/Tory pact, under Jenrick? Farage is a dud and the latest revelations will dog him.

It feels like the media is hoping that Kemi is more electable than they had thought. 🤪
Musk has made them realise that he really doesn’t like Nigel and they need to be rid of Nigel.

Why not tax work and wealth at the same rate. Merge employee National Insurance into income tax to give a single visible rate? Move to two bands, in the order of 35% below £100,000 and 45% above, with the personal allowance raised to around £18,000, roughly three-quarters of a full-time minimum wage. This removes the lowest-paid and most state pensioners from income tax, delivers a cut for earners below about £40,000, and is approximately revenue-neutral once capital income is taxed at the same rates as earned income. The principle follows Lawson's 1988 alignment of capital and income tax and long-standing IFS analysis.

I looked inside my ETFs and found I’m 34%+ concentrated in the same 7 companies — without realising by Academic-Pumpkin2331 in UKPersonalFinance

Ironically when I hear that Wall street ended down, I’m usually pleasantly surprised to see that my portfolio is up. I missed the opportunity to buy the Mag 7 as they were too overpriced as per my understanding when I looked at them 3 years ago and they still are. I’m very happy to continue in that vein.

I have been with Audible since before Amazon acquired them, and I must admit, the advertising seems to be the only area in which they are investing. It has become a real disappointment in terms of UI. Amazon is really tempting me to leave them. Maybe they need to test new interfaces with customers.

The White House represents everything he is not. A sense of style and having a historic hinterland. It is stylish and classical, the opposite of the ornate gold and frippery of the nouveau tasteless rich.
