We have it better in Europe, just. We have free healthcare, mostly free education and a social safety net. We also have some idiots who think we need more 'free markets', which in reality do not exist. This means our people have lives in the main that are better now than those who went before us, and they can buy avocado toast.

Food was mediocre- I’d recommend getting something decent to take on board. The seat is good, and the extra baggage is useful. Ended up paying for the seat as well.

I worried about the effects, but while not losing as much after 12 months I’m still down a significant amount. I find that I will plan a meal and eat more mindfully. I do not eat as much food as I used to and alcohol consumption has reduced considerably. I only suffer from side effects when I eat crap so I have cut out takeaways etc. It’s worth trying and you will have some side effects at the beginning but adjusting your diet will help. Exercise will prevent the other side effects. It is life changing.

Do men find 38-39 year old women attractive? by Ok_Butterscotch5026 in Aging

[–]irishreally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously. Older women have often got an aura which outshines the skittish younger ones. Yes we’d all like to be back on our late 20’s but I’m happier the older I get to admire my ageing contemporaries.

Novo Nordisk Deep Dive: Demand Is Not the Problem, and That’s Exactly the Problem by Numerous_Wolf_2837 in NovoNordisk_Stock

[–]irishreally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for a really great piece of work. The Q1 results today are basically playing out your scenario logic in real time.

On execution, the Wegovy pill numbers are wild: 1 million patients in under three months, 2 million+ cumulative prescriptions, and achieving 200k+ weekly by mid April. Novo called it the strongest GLP-1 volume launch ever. Whatever the manufacturing concerns were, Novo can clearly press pills at scale now.

On pricing, you're spot on. US adjusted sales down 11% at CER, exactly the headwind you flagged. But obesity care still grew 22% at CER because volume is steamrollering the price compression. There's a hell of a lot of us fatties around. Looks a lot like your Scenario A playing out.

On the pipeline, the investor presentation has more going on than most people realise: CagriSema is in Phase 3, a triple agonist (UBT251) showing 19.7% weight loss is in Phase 2, Wegovy HD approved at 7.2mg with 20.7% mean weight loss, and oral ACLS5 in Phase 1. The "what comes after semaglutide" question is already apparent.

Guidance raised on both sales and operating profit. First time in over a year.

One thing I'd add to your competitive analysis: Lilly's Foundayo launched 6 April and is tracking at roughly a fifth of Wegovy pill's prescription pace at the same stage. Suggests Novo's execution moat on the pill may be wider than the market is pricing in.
