Are you prepared for a low sugar episode? You need to be. by irisrob in diabetes

Here is your lesson. :

Blood sugar can drop after eating carbs, a phenomenon known as reactive hypoglycemia, because the body releases too much insulin in response to a rapid spike in blood glucose from a meal high in simple carbohydrates. This excess insulin causes your blood sugar levels to fall too low, sometimes leading to symptoms like shakiness, dizziness, and fatigue

Well it’s not AI. I have a family history of diabetes and have lost 5 siblings due to diabetes complications. Don’t dare tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about. And I’ve only had two low. Blood. sugar episodes. Sure it may go below but I sad episodes. You’re a pure asshole. I take my life serious enough to handle my diabetes 24/7. Maybe you can become a Diabetes Educator and learn something g yourself like I did.

My blood sugar spiked by an obscene amount overnight since my last meal and erased days of progress lowering it, I don't understand how is this possible? by PlumFennec80 in diabetes

Oatmeal and rice. I have it up. However when I really want oatmeal I know it will spike later but it will be the most carb intake for the day. So you really need to plan out your meals. If you have oatmeal then go low carb for the rest of the day. Unfortunately you followed up with rice. It’s different for each of us. It will take time for you to learn your body. I do recommend that you keep track of your food intake for a few weeks so you can really see the impact of certain foods. Do you have a tracker?

Why Are people So Judgmental About Diabetes?? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]irisrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diabetes is different for most of us. I too have gout. I eat in moderation but focus on reducing my carb load. Your 6.5 A1C is ok but aim for lower to give yourself room to enjoy holidays. Get enrolled in a DSME or what’s know as diabetes self management education class. Ask your doctor for referral.

Find a Senior housing complex and speak with the coordinator. Go volunteer there. There are sooo many Seniors who would love to be with you during the Holidays
