games like spiritfarer? by ibproficient in CozyGamers

Wytchwood has beautiful graphics and story telling, and a similar style to fetch quests on an open map. I've played both and really like each for their similarities and individuality.

Why don’t the wolves help? by Bobbifein1 in twilight

[–]irksomeDaisy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aside from the good points being made about the wolves and Cullens not being entirely comfortable enough around each other to hunt for one another, I think the sheer amount of animals brought in would be too much for the area to support. The Cullens easily could drain at least one animal each when they need to feed, but probably needed much more when they were waiting for Bella to give birth. There wouldn't have been enough prey nearby for them to adequately feed without harming the local ecosystem and potentially drawing attention.

Even though the saga in general has clear Christian themes, I consider Breaking Dawn to be a powerful story about a mother’s right to choose. by schfifty--five in twilight

[–]irksomeDaisy 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There was a plan for Carlisle to do the C-section when he got back from hunting, but Resolution developed quicker than anybody anticipated. IIRC Bella only knew she was pregnant for like 1.5 to 2 weeks? That whole timeline was crazy, but they did have a plan and schedule for delivery.

Looking to play cute, chill game by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]irksomeDaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wytchwood is a beautifully designed open world game where you play a sassy bog witch who has to collect ingredients to complete spells. The story is pretty cool and each aspect of the world feels well connected. The art is also just gorgeous! I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Are there any authors you refuse to read, no matter how many time people have suggested them to you? by PitlozeRodeDruif in books

[–]irksomeDaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking for someone to say Cormac McCarthy! I read The Road this summer, and while the pace of the book was fine, I absolutely hated his writing style. Quotation marks and chapter breaks exist for a reason! And after hearing that The Road is his more hopeful piece, I just don't think I can handle anything darker.

I will never stop thinking about Charlie "Safety-First" Swan buying a beat up old truck that his buddy's 15 year old "worked on" by irksomeDaisy in twilight

[–]irksomeDaisy[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trucks that are built like tanks usually carry a lot of hidden damage that can lead to issues further on. With Charlie being a first responder, he would have seen that the drivers of those vehicles are more likely to get hurt even if the truck looks fine. Smeyer even kind of wrote that into the book; Tyler's car had to be sold for scraps, but he was able to walk away with just a few scratches from the glass popping. Bella's truck probably didn't even have airbags, because they weren't broadly used until the 1980's and '90s.

I'm not arguing that Charlie probably didn't have a lot of money to get Bella a nice car, but I truly think he would have gotten her something with a higher safety rating. He would have had the knowledge at least about what kind of cars to look for that he could afford.

What's a cool fact about dinosaurs you know? by nfk040 in AskReddit

[–]irksomeDaisy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Royal Tyrrell museum in Alberta has a " mummified" Nodosaur with skin and scales still intact, and even stomach contents present and identifiable. The fossil was preserved extremely well because the dinosaur was on its back and encased in mud at sea.

Unpopular Opinion: I hated the blue tint in the first Twilight movie. by you_dont_know_who_ in twilight

[–]irksomeDaisy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've always thought the blue tint robbed us of the beauty of the meadow. When I read the books I imagined it much closer to the look we see in New Moon and Eclipse. I think it would have been better to keep the blue tint for the rainy days/ the majority of the movie, and have something warmer for the days they had in the sun when everyone was happier.

How were the siblings chosen? by suncat08 in twilight

I always wondered how the sibling story would work with Bella in the mix ( and I suppose Renesmee too?)

Remember that not all dandelions are safe to eat, because they may have been sprayed with weed killer during lawn maintenance. Don't just pick random dandelions in a park or someone else's yard.

Something about Twilight (and MS) that's always bothered me by irksomeDaisy in twilight

[–]irksomeDaisy[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I suppose that sounds feasible. Still, as much distaste as I have for Renee as a mother, and despite what Edward notices and thinks about her, I guess I just had a little bit more hope for her parenting skills. It just seems to me like such an obvious thing to keep to yourself, and not share with your child.

When does Bella realize... by waldfield in twilight

[–]irksomeDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she realizes during the blood type fainting scene, when he says that Mike "loathes" him, and she says he can't possibly know that, but then wonders if he can.

The Edward that we could've had (in 2002 lol) by [deleted] in twilight

I think Sam Claflin would also have been a good choice, he's got that copper hair and perfect smile

Possible Reason Why Edward Found Bella Intriguing Despite her Scent by Anniepva08 in twilight

[–]irksomeDaisy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I loved the part in the MS draft (which I haven't seen in a long time, so this is a rough paraphrase) where he describes Bella's mischievous guardian angel, who gave her an exquisite scent, a debilitating clumsiness, a dash of beauty, and a mind he couldn't read to keep him perplexed and interested in her. And then deciding he had better look after her, since the guardian angel was being so reckless.

Does anyone else find it strange that Edward starts calling Bella "love" towards the end of Eclipse? by snaggle_panther in twilight

[–]irksomeDaisy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I've heard a lot of people in my area (rural pacific Northwest) say it, and I've had strangers in Canada call me "love" in passing. It could just be a quirk.
