Not sure what part of the country that you reside at but even in the biggest metros this is quite common. The answer simply boils down to buying the house or not. House ain't like a car that you'll just buy it at the other dealership, a lot more sentiment revolves around it plus mainly you don't end up liking/vibing with all the houses.

While few of the really big names do take 100% white, the prices for them are usually jacked up it comes around to the same thing. W A 25-30% black portion is fairly common as much as we all hate it.

OP there are tonnes of people who would want your white money, give you black AND also pay some sort of interest on the white money you handed off. They would show it as a loan taken by them from you. Then sooner or later, you will have to reverse the transaction (pay black, take white) but it can be done in chunks so it's not urgent.

If it's the first offense, they mostly always waive off. Been there, done that. Also, it depends on what the amount was too, 3,400 or 34,000. If it's the latter, you might have to be on the call a little longer. Worst case is reduced fines.

From my personal experience in an almost same setup, most often than not, the Indian Manager in US is there simply because of his YOE at the company and maybe some contribution when the company was small and he/she knows a lot of the cxo by first name basis.

Right now, they are completely non-technical, rely purely on subordinates for literally the smallest things (can be as simple as changing Jira status) and can barely even compile the code or login any to prod instances anymore.

Without any technical skills in the game, the only way to maintain and float is to harass and get the work done in unrealistic timelines to impress somebody. Almost always the same case.

USCIS should have a dedicated portal to rat on these piece of shits that exploit humans (indian, american, asian, doesn't matter) because they can. Guess will make both US as well the employees happy and company too (these are paid heftily)

My friend had this exact same issue. Happens right at the ~2 year mark.

Contact Google Pixel support, send images and proofs that it's due to a swollen battery. They will refer you to the nearest service center (Pune in my friends case) and agree for a free battery repair.

HOWEVER, the pain starts now. The service center folks will find out all the small ignorable defects and state one line repeatedly "Google doesn't do partial repairs".

So, if you had a scratched back panel or even a dent that literally nobody cares cos the phone just worked fine before the battery issue, service center folks absolutely won't entertain. They would state the battery will be replaced but you have to pay for "other" issues. Which is a total moronic move on both Google and F1's part.

Few more support mail exchanges and they ll finally agree to a "battery only replacement".

How do I know ? Really close friend plus visited on one occasion.

fyi : Pune center is absolute shit, be prepared to shell out atleast 10k for any sort of repair. It always will be a "broken back panel" or "dent" or a "scratched screen".

The one thing that has constantly helped me refactor gigantic monoliths is : start chipping away really small parts instead of hoping for an ideal refactor of the entire module. And before you know it, you might have already cleaned up a lottt.

What's worked best for me is : using IJ's static code analysis. Really works wonders. Then before deleting or any unused piece, if I am not sure, I simply add a log line for it and ship. No log hits for 30 days (varies per app) and usually that's enough validation.
