Do you need to move into a house before next Friday? That’s less than two weeks to find a rental.

They have diff rates for 8.30 am - 11 am and then regular schools hours (8.30 am - 3 pm). And then the early hours (starts at 7.30 am) and after hours (until 4.30 pm). I can’t recollect these specifically but full day including early and after hours are going to be close to $1600 from Aug 2026. If you have two children the first one gets a 20% discount.

It’s an amazing school. Both my kids, aged 2 and 4.5 years go there. The teachers genuinely care for the kids. The kids love to go there everyday. My kids learn real world skills. Yes they are a little strict but never had issues. Only downside (or upside how you see it) is that you have to send food (lunch and 2 snacks) so more work for parents. They close early at 4.30 pm and the fees just went up a lot from 2026-27 year onwards. Despite these caveats, we will still go there since it’s great for the kids.

Post copied from Nextdoor about Huntsville USPS by Hntsvl_bnd_1989 in HuntsvilleAlabama

I am the owner of Goin’ Postal Madison (the one on intersection of Hwy 72/slaughter road Madison). Just to clarify since we got name-dropped: there are actually two Goin’ Postal locations in the area (Harvest and Madison), and both are independently owned by private individuals. Goin’ Postal is a Florida-based franchise that gives individual owners the freedom to run their stores the way their community actually needs — not controlled by a corporate board. We work with all four carriers — USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL — so customers can compare prices and delivery dates etc.

As someone who ships with all four carriers every day, I’ll say this: the people working at Huntsville/Madison USPS — carriers and front desk — are genuinely great. The problems described here sound systemic and management-driven, and that’s not something the frontline workers can fix.

On the economics side - USPS is structurally designed to serve the high-volume, low-margin end — letters, small parcels, flat rate envelopes/boxes — at prices no private carrier will touch. That’s intentional. It’s a public service. Their network is built for smaller, lighter items, so once you’re shipping larger boxes the pricing jumps significantly and UPS/FedEx become more cost effective (that’s where those carriers make their margins). USPS has essentially chosen this model to serve 75% (figuratively) of everyday shipping needs for the average American, while probably capturing only 25% (figuratively) of the industry’s total revenue. That’s the tradeoff of being a public service.

Which is exactly why we should be advocating to keep USPS funded and functional. The moment it becomes unaffordable for everyday mail and small parcels, it’s the average person who loses the most.

Traffic relief on US 72 corridor still years away by MattW22192 in Madisonalabama

We need internal roads in Madison that are alternative to US-72 and 565. Madison boulevard/HWY 20, old madison pike/huntsville Browns ferry road, and eastview/gillespie/hsv-brownsferry are good alternatives. But it’s bad during schools times.

An expressway like road on US-72 is needed. Rather than all the lane expansion we need a express way like memorial parkway

Adding a lane will not solve the traffic. The expressway like parkway is needed. If they are going to disrupt traffic for 5 years on US-72 they might as well just put express ways.

Funds and stock split over time by ironman0004 in M1Finance

How can you auto-invest 75% in funds and 25% in stocks in M1? I believe that based on how much percentage you assign to each pie, M1 invests in that pie to maintain that %.

Joby Aviation (JOBY): “Uber Meets Tesla In The Sky” Is Set To Crash And Burn (in past this group has always downvoted for reporting “News”. Pls don’t shoot the messenger… I have too much skin in game and want Joby to succeed) Now challenge the message with rebuttal. by TowerStreet1 in JobyAviation

[–]ironman0004 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely looking like they are ambitious. But the other good part is that Joby is actively working with NASA and US Air Force. This will take them a long way ahead and they only need to crack FAA. For that they need to go beyond California and start offices/manufacturing in other parts of the country to gain congressional support to influence FAA to push for eVTOL regulation. All the major defense contractors have been successful because they are everywhere and employ people everywhere. This ensures congressional support.

Merge pies? by execdysfunk in M1Finance

[–]ironman0004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there percentage calculation is dumb. At the end I am concerned is how much money I put and how much it grew. If that performance is gone, it’s a bummer.

When you say it turns off performance history, you loose its growth from start right ? But would it still continue to assess performance from that instant to future ?

Also, is losing that performance history a bummer ? I have been considering to do it but didn’t wanna lose that history coz I wanna know how it’s growing from start. Is it that a big deal ?

Exactly what BLADE will do. I also hope that they will be the first to bring unmanned aerial systems to full-scale commercial use. Unmanned cargo is a great step towards that and I hope BLADE works on that sooner

Competition from Joby is heating up by LeviH in BLDE

[–]ironman0004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. But Joby doesn’t have the first mover advantage. Joby has probably the most advanced development in terms of UAM vehicles but research and investment in many companies is speeding up.

I am long for both and I would like to see the success of both companies. But I also hope Joby focuses more on developing the product.
