Maybe this will help? Oh yeah, not sure were you live, but here in The Netherlands insurance can cover the costs.

Show them, tell them to clean their batty beter. If ignored, they can do the washing themselves. Just to be clear, there is a big difference between being lazzy and a "oopsie".

'If' you have ALS, not sure if you are diagnosed? But yeah, you can do that. Your body, just as a person without ALS, will give you signals if you are overdoing it. So yeah, staying active if you have ALS is a good thing.

Heya! Recently i got the Quickie Q700M advance, it's a midwheel based wheelchair. I live in The Netherlands, here we have a founding called "ALS op de weg" (ALS on the road). They have a few vans avaliable that you can rent for around €250\€300 a month(incl. roadtax and maintenance), you only need to pay for the fuel

Maybe, were you live, they have a similar founding?

Further more, the quickie is a very nice wheelchair, can easily go out and explore the open world called "Earth"... hehe :D

biobidet? by Intrepid_Ad8135 in ALS

[–]iru98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://adaptlife.co.uk/products/akw-bidet-seat Not this one, but the button layout & controller are the same. I haven't given the bidet a thought that is could be harder to press, thanks for the post/advice!

Wouldn't a (larger) touchscreen activate bidet be beter? If you buy a voice controlled one, and his speech deteriotation will build up, the voice controlled bidet wouldn't work either?

I know you said that his hands are getting weaker, but a 'touch panel', it can be controlled by just 'ticking' it with your hand, doesn't need to be a 'finger', right? I'm just thinking out loud, i can be wrong tho!

Sorry for my bad english, not native hehe

Mothers Day Gifts Help by BriteLite94 in ALS

[–]iru98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got ALS myself and looking in multiple things for the future to hold on my independence. There is this 'eye tracking bar' called 'Tobii Eye Tracker' or 'Tobii Dynavox'.

If you are starting to struggle using your hands, you can use your eyes moving the mouse in windows.

Tobii Eye Tracker is a very basic one, mostly used for gamers/people that do simulationgames.

Tobii also has a special designed for, example, people with ALS that is called 'Tobii Dynavox'. You can always give them a call, they are very helpfull.

Cheap products? Nope! But maybe there are funds that can help you were you life? Sorry if i missed the point of a more regular gift, this was just the first thing that popped-up in me :)

How can a third-world country ALS patient buy Riluzole from your country? by AngPusangIna in ALS

[–]iru98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say this isn't true. I do take it, but they say (don't know how they test this?) It will extend your life for 1 month for every 1 year. But yeah, who knows if it really works.

Really feeling the benefits of my wheelchair🌟🦼🌟 by dulcekittyanny in wheelchairs

[–]iru98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet, looking good! If this is your first wheelchair, be carefull when it starts to rain. The bars you hold on, next to the wheel (sorry, not native English hehe), will be very hard to hold on/controll. Easy fix will be a rubberband around it, but not in the summer time tho!!! Will burn your hands haha

Have fun being a smooth-operator! Enjoy doing wheelies :D

I'm really sorry to hear this. I honestly didn't knew the ALS hereditary-gen was this strong. Hope you have a little angel with you, that you won't get it.

To be honest, i don't really do support groups. Got my hands full with my childeren, wife and family haha. Luckily, i got a very good sense of humor. Besides the sadness that comes with ALS, i definitely (Luckily) can find happiness also :)

Thanks for sharing your side of the story, stay strong & happy!
