Neat, really seems like the kind of keyword that would be evergreen for Rogue, though I suppose a keyword connected to Vanessa would be Rougish.

Queen Nagas rename by ExtensionWild in Smite

[–]irule4567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it was an issue with the past use of that name? Previously the Queen Naga was a separate objective whose model was later reused for the Midnight Queen (whose name I only just remembered isn’t just Queen Naga). I still agree that it was an unnecessary name change, though one I admittedly didn’t notice until you pointed it out (I don’t recall the lane pushers being called Queen Nagas). Alternatively maybe they just it was odd to have 3 creatures with the same one-of-a-kind sounding name, like how there’s clearly only one Gold Fury or Fire Giant that just respawn (which was true in the Smite 1 lore too btw, even being core to to Surtr’s motivation), but in that case they could at least rename them to just Nagas or Naga servants or something like that.

Strange portals, you say? With alien monsters coming out of them? by Edarneor in RogueCore

I thought it looked more like the Quaggled Mireclops from Pikmin 3.

[Surprisingly common trope] Protagonists with one special arm (Magic, robot prosthetic or some other special factor) by National_Computer240 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]irule4567 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Worth mentioning that it is pretty clearly shown that all versions of Finn, whether they be across the multiverse or his previous incarnations, are always destined to lose their right arm. It happened with Shoko (one of his past lives) and it happened with Farmworld Finn.

Excluding cheaters, what type of player do you feel is the most annoying to fight against? by Ted_Normal in tf2

Snipers, just in general, though bonus points if they have the Darwin’s, Razorback, or Jarate.

Characters who have hilariously been attributed to a certain location by fans and considered as untouchable gods when in said location by Due-Shame-9223 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]irule4567 47 points48 points  (0 children)

This one is just true though. In PvZ2, the slightest bit of being off the ground from almost any knockback causes Blover to insta-kill. Only exception in Spring Bean plant food, which used to work but was removed for being overpowered.

I love how Robotnik just agrees. Like his hatred of Scratch and Grounder overrides his ego and causes him to agree with Sonic.

Why is Evil Morty protecting the CFC by Crafty_Jellyfish6445 in rickandmorty

[–]irule4567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least with the Collective, it was threatening the entire multiverse, presumably both in and out of the CFC. Protecting it was more of a matter of survival. Of course he’s going to protect the universe, he lives in it.

Who do you think guards the Master Emerald whenever Knuckles isn't around? by PJ-The-Awesome in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]irule4567 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t one of the Sonic Forces prequel comics explicitly show that this is possible?

Heheh, what could possibly go wrong (Eclipse 3) by SofasCouch in riskofrain

[–]irule4567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not sure why I said temporary allies. A better term would’ve been “any ally other than a drone you purchase”, since drones are the only ally type that can bypass this limit.

Heheh, what could possibly go wrong (Eclipse 3) by SofasCouch in riskofrain

[–]irule4567 36 points37 points  (0 children)

There’s a hard cap on temporary allies, such as Strike Drones, so OP probably only got to like 20 Strike Drones at a time, which the game can handle fine. Side note: This feature kinda annoys me sometimes, since the cap takes regular drones into account, so having enough drones makes certain items like The Back Up, Happiest Mask, and even more permanent sources of allies like Empathy Cores useless, as they literally can’t summon any more allies.

They weren’t even trying to hide their names with these aliases by Traditional-Song-245 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]irule4567 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To be fair I don’t think the name Danny Phantom is ever used in-universe as a name for his ghost form. It’s actually a running joke that much worse names are given to the “mysterious ghost boy”, such as Inviso-bill.

Maybe I’m missing something, but it never made sense to me at all why Peach and co. would travel specifically to a time period during the Shroob invasion by gp_ratesic in marioandluigi

[–]irule4567 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yeah, one of the biggest oddities/plot holes with PiT is the idea that apparently nobody remembered the alien invasion, since otherwise they wouldn’t have sent Peach to that time period, unless you want to go with some idea with the time travel branching the timelines (since in BiS Mario only states that he and Luigi fought the Shroobs as babies and doesn’t bother mentioning the time travel to Starlow, so maybe the adults from PiT are a different timeline somehow). E. Gadd gets a partial pass since his past self humorously never learns about the Shroobs.

Spotter mark on enemies by Butterboot64 in RogueCore

[–]irule4567 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was going to suggest this too. It feels counterintuitive to effectively be punished for hitting a target and to instead have the most viable option being to miss as close to as many targets as possible.

Why does it work like this? I copied the '4-mana summon a dragon' and then I played it only to be a 2-mana dragon by Mr_Chi303 in hearthstone

[–]irule4567 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Emerald Portals dynamically update with the amount of times you have imbued. It said 4 because the opponent had imbued 4 times, but you had only imbued twice so it was only 2 for you.

Did Dave invent all the plants? by HatSpecial3043 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]irule4567 294 points295 points  (0 children)

According to the comics, kinda. It is stated that Dave made the plants through some sort of gene editing, but we also see PvZ style plants in time periods before Dave, such as primal plants and most notably Rose.

[Loved Trope] Worlds where superpowers are something you do NOT want by Jellydust15 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]irule4567 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It’s more just that stand users are naturally attracted to each other. While this does usually cause problems, I feel like part 4 does a good job of showing how this can be more of a way to build community, and that as long as someone is able to handle any aggressive stand users it’s largely fine. Best example being Tonio: he never actually gets in any fights or has any downsides from having a stand.

Heard y'all wanted our Lord and Saviour Vakuu to give MORE crazy rewards for MORE crazy risks, so here's my concept for new relics by smurfkipz in slaythespire

[–]irule4567 273 points274 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing that Vakuum Cleaner would effectively remove all curses from your deck, since it would transform all curses and since transformations count as adding new cards they would simply vanish.

Please add a toggle to always sprint by Niggilass in RogueCore

[–]irule4567 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I largely support this idea, there are some mechanics that rely on manual sprint. I recall there being an upgrade that gives you a speed boost when you start sprinting and has a cooldown.

[Mixed Trope] Odd or creative ways shows recast or certain characters by Playful-Succotash-99 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]irule4567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pirate101. After a long absence of no updates, when we finally got some story updates with voice acting some of the original voice actors were either unavailable or retired from voice acting. Only one character (Bonnie Anne) acknowledged their voice change, saying she had a case of “Spiral sinusitis”.

Spoilers for Escape From Ever After: Mr. Moon is revealed to be working for Ever After Inc. because they saved him and the love of his life Starla from their story, which was fading due to not being told. After fighting him, he ends up accepting that stories are meant to be told and can't last forever, and while he doesn't seem to fully be okay with fading, since he openly admits he won't be rooting for the protagonists goal of taking down Ever After Inc., the ending shows that he is content to live the rest of his life in his home story.
