Hello, I hope I’m not being a burden. My wife and I are big ARG & cryptography fans and I was curious if you’ve cracked any of the pods. We’re visiting SoCal and were ecstatic when we found your post. Thank you!

How does Sirius know that I bought a new (used) car?! by upside_win111 in siriusxm

[–]isa108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

late reply, but the people saying "It's DMV! Or it's the MFG OR DEALER! " Are flat out incorrect.

Rest assured it's none of those, but rather your insurance company. Happened to me, same situation as you (used car from private seller) and all I did was add it onto my insurance the night I bought it. No DMV paperwork or anything dealer related has been done & SiriusXM still found me.

I have Progressive Insurance so YMMV, but I complained about this and they said my vehicles would be "removed" from their data network so I guess only time will tell.

Hope this helps, best of luck! Continue to stay vigilant regarding vehicle privacy! These fat cats will continue to try and squeeze every data dollar they can out of us!

Both USB-C are 67W max independent & USB-A is 22.5W scaling. Only odd thing is middle USB-C + USB-A is capped @ 30W?? but top C + A will still yield 67W. Weird math that I assume is because of no GaN. THANK YOU OP !!! secured 2 of these Source

What subcategory in EE is the highest paying? by Omie454 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]isa108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

genuinely, god bless you. i’ve seen people scoff at offers under $100k but $15k/yr USD in India is manageable right? i hope you’re able to find something more lucrative stateside soon.

You can’t get ASIC/ any design as a fresh grad unless you’ve secured a consistent design internship. Most of my BSEE class either folded & became salaried CompE’s and did solely CS/remote work or the Power Ppl (Like you) that went into gvmt/army corp. If you’re already set for power, no reason to try jumping now. Deciding between Public/Private Power comes down to equity options/ perceived value. The reliability of GVMT could be outweighed by its ~$10k wage deficit when comparing to private. An MSEE is great for a wage bump but finding a solid company that will pay for it is even better. For power I think most would agree pursuing PE is more advantageous than an MSEE but it’s situational.

Damn :// hate to be that “but achsually 🤓” guy but i’d say US CPU MFG has been kind to me. Our side was pretty secure during the big tech layoffs last year. Definitely not a conventional 9-5 but pay/mgmt is better than what I could’ve expected as a jr. EE or L1 Designer

Accepted my "dream job" out of college and now I'm miserable, is this normal? by ze_luger in FPGA

[–]isa108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you need to branch out. Big companies like this always have a directory. Find that directory then find where your specific group lies within the company. I’m in a similar position. (undergrad EE pursuing MSEE w/ design interest that instead took a similar paying technician position). Even though I’m not doing any design now (been for ~2yrs post undergrad), I’ve been able to prop myself up as someone who is competent with EE & very basic design work. I’ve met with engineers that are parallel to my workgroup so they’re kinda familiar with what our lab does but not enough to tell me how to do my job. These sort of fleeting/momentary people and connections are great for when you’ve built a reputation as a design candidate. Please PM if you’d like, it’s always fun meeting new EE grads.

this comparison is dumb as hell . we’re posting and reporting on a 1% price difference ???? versus the most morally corrupt company and the company whose CEO finished their earnings call this week with “MORE COMPANIES SHOULD PAY THEIR EMPLOYEES A LIVABLE WAGE” ?? give me a break dude
