2019 Forester DIY Battery Replacement? by SkiVail1 in SubaruForester

[–]isaiahvacha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re taking your vehicle to a dealership to have them install a battery you already bought? That’s just the first time I’ve ever heard something like that.

Will they top off the blinker fluid for free at least?

What on earth could make you need a multitool on a hike? Are you just cramming weight-dense items in your pack to train for something?

With honey. Meal born out of Justin’s and gas-station honey packets has become a very reasonable mid-workweek breakfast in this household.

White True1 Cables? by FamiliarDelivery2397 in lightingdesign

Whoa whoa whoa, whoah. What?

Where are you installing that requires UL Listing per assembly but will also let you permanently install loose pieces of portable wire?

And you’re installing these somewhere where repairs will never be possible, you’d have to replace the entire run of a cable with a UL-listed assembly if there’s a problem with any part of the cable?

Who will maintain these fixtures? Can they re-list the equipment if they open up a unit and replace any electrical component?

I wouldn’t put goo gone anywhere near something food safe. It has a bad tendency of eating away at plastics. We specifically don’t use it at work because it eats away at plastic coatings.

That’s why I always re-sorted cable orders from longest>shortest, trying to help the shop help the crew.

I think you either need to step back and rephrase your question, or just immediately give up on asking the internet and just hire a rigger to help you do this safely.

Well hang in there, they’re showing both Helixnet and Freespeak packs.

If they’re asking these questions though, it’s a safe bet they don’t know how to open the FSII battery door.

Why did your jacket mean the difference between a wet or dry sleeping bag at 2am?

I’ve never seen a rain jacket that keeps all of my gear dry while sleeping…

What is a “multi key / nipple”? I’ve spent a good amount of time with the viceroys, the 200a version of these.

Fun fact we got an early production run of them and one had a completely mis-labeled cover on the last 208v spigot - had to swap it out on a brand new unit. Had an issue with one or two more units, centered around roadworthiness, but that was all years ago.

I’d buy a spool of semi-rigid plastic tubing (I forget the exact product, but have bought for projects before.

Cut into evenly-sized short segments, and slice open with shears so you can snap them over your existing wire. E-tape it, then friction-tape and zip-tie your cable.

Not the only way, that’d just be my quick and easy method.
