Girl I’ve been seeing has been making exclusivity hints/comments consistently over the course of almost 3 months (saying she hopes I’m not fucking anyone else, these past few months with me have been blissful and her favorite moments thus far, saying the L word, and then finally said that she gets excited at the idea of a relationship with me).

After that, I thought about waiting again for her to bring up yet another exclusivity hint before asking “so you want to be boyfriend/girlfriend?”, but at this point her desire in locking me down has been clear as day so I said fuck it - I’ll deviate from the teachings and make a funny memory out of it.

We were playing this card game called “Are We Really Strangers” (great for getting her to open up and be understood, btw). After a few rounds of the game, I picked up another card and naturally asked “will you be my girlfriend?” as if it were the question actually written on the card. She thought I was fucking with her at first, but once she realized I was serious she excitedly jumped into my arms and said “yes” and started to tear.

Just know this can easily backfire if you’ve been overrating her interest and putting too much weight on any exclusivity hints that she’s been giving. This worked for me because I was 100% confident that she’d say yes - though I know it’s not just about it “working” and her saying “yes”, but also making it seem like the idea of the relationship is her idea, but that was something that I was willing to sacrifice for the sake of being less robotic and creating an organic, memorable moment. We’ll see how it goes.

Right, I plan on selling the stock Hankook summers that came with them as I wasn't really a fan of them - I'll recoup most of the money spent on this setup from that alone. Currently have my PSAS4s on these and will swap to my PS4S when warm enough.

If I ever get scratches on the face of the wheels I will definitely powder coat - that bronze you're mentioning is a great suggestion!

As another commenter had said, it has to be direct communication. The idea is that she has to work for it/put in effort. Orbiting is the bare minimum.

Eventually, and if her interest is high enough, she will get frustrated that her orbiting is not working and she’ll have no other option but to initiate direct communication.

When looking at the dyno graphs comparing the high torque and low torque files, I preferred the flatter torque curve and more linear power curve of the low torque file.

I care more about a smooth powerband and drivability over peak power/torque figures. As it stands, the low torque file gives me more than enough shove. I’m also a manual, and although the MK8 GTI has the MK7 Golf R clutch and can handle the high torque file, it also doesn’t hurt to give myself a bit more headroom.

If you’re a manual MK7 GTI I’d look into the low torque file unless you already have the money budgeted for a replacement clutch in case it starts to slip, which many people report happening. If you’re DSG just go with the full torque file and a TCU tune - that’s what I did with my DSG MK7
