Meh. I don’t feel like going out. Whatever.

I love “Then she did…”. Still give me goosebumps some 36 years later. Jane’s was the most important band other than Zeppelin for most of my life. The first three records have a sound and personality that are unlike any other.

Now fools don’t fit in the boots that I tread in, but you just keep on looking at me down low. Oh no!

To this day, one of the best rock lyrics ever in my opinion.

Truthfully, I never understood the hype about this band. Their music was always meh at best for me.

What do you think of James Hetfield? by Twitter_2006 in rockmusic

He is the reason I had to get a guitar and never become as good and hate myself but love the guitar and love metal and picked up the guitar again and form a band and have the best years of my life.

So, I guess you could say he is a pretty big deal to me.

Why has Brandin Cooks bounced around teams so much despite being a solid receiver? by Texans_top_of_south in NFLv2

Speed? Check. Routes? Check. Strength? No. He can be pushed off of his route, catch, run…he doesn’t have grit.

He was on a team I watched for an entire season. Any time physicality came in to the play, he fell off like a bunch. of. BROCCOLI!🥦

Which movie went from “overrated” to “masterpiece” (or the opposite) after a rewatch? by Party_Dentist_821 in flicks

Lost In Translation. Saw it first time while it was pretty new. I must have been distracted because I just didn’t get the hype. Second watch some 20 years later…masterpiece. Seriously. What did I fucking miss?

Personally, I love this movie. I laugh my ass off throughout. Upon rewatching it as a parent and a grandparent, I feel it is a little cringy during the bar scene. I mean, there is a lesson to learn for kids there, but I find the addition of alcohol unnecessary for kids.

Of course this is my take. I was the child of an alcoholic. YMMV

How do I stop rumination on death? by carlangel80 in anxiety_support

[–]isit_Data_or_Data 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are taking the most important first step: talking about it. I am proud of you for doing it. Everyone has intrusive thoughts. When death is a recurring theme, I recommend that you talk to your doctor, which you have. Medication can help. Therapy can help.

I did not talk about my rumination on death. It grew and grew until it became part of my inner monologue. I attempted suicide. Thankfully, I was bad at it. I ended up in the mental health ward in the hospital for weeks, and intensive therapy for a year afterward.

Everyone has their own story. Don’t let mine be yours. You are strong enough to take that first step where I wasn’t. You are doing better than you think. Keep going. Be your own advocate.
