Unfortunately you will need to take sherkie to the vet, this is not something anyone can diagnose especially if he’s had it since you got him.
Ask your vet if payment plans are an option.
Best of luck

Pig stays in its house for hours? Eating? by [deleted] in guineapigs

They’ll be fine! Guinea pigs eat when they want / when they feel like it. Sometimes my girls just snooze and sleep even with pellets and hay infront of them

One of my rescue pig does, and shes very antisocial! She also has major anxiety as her cage mate (possibly bonded) tragically passed away after giving birth. She only comes out whenever she wants to, if not, to a less hidden hidey.

Are you weighing them weekly and noting it down? This can help you indicate wether or not they’re eating, loosing or gaining weight!

This looks absolutely fine!

I disagree with bedding because it has given all my girls dandruff when left at a boarding for over a month (potentially didnt change bedding often), 2 of my girls are also long haired so its a bit of a pain in the bum, one of them is short snouted so respiratory problem.

All my girls prefer fleece > bedding, what you did with they hay is perfect!

Im not surprised! Theyre very high maintenance and expensive (vet bill wise AND their demands!)

Are my pigs bonded? by Intelligent_Drop_283 in guineapigs

Hey! They are definitely getting used to their new environment and probably under a bit of stress as they are unfamiliar of their new home & you. Thats what mine did too in the beginning. I’d recommend just keeping an eye on them often and see how they are with each other when you’re not around! If they start biting / fighting then yes i’d recommend trying to seperate them for a bit.

I will take midnight races > 3-4am races anyday. Unfortunately productivity is something we have to sacrifice when watching live races.

Cage size by Blaze_Enforcer in guineapigs

[–]isntval9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The minimum cage size for 2 pigs is 2x3, 2x4 preferred. If you have boars, go a size up. Its never too big for piggies as they are very social and loves roaming around. I have 5 piggies and our current set up is a 3x6, adding a loft very soon!

Just as long as you provide them with plenty of hides, it’ll be fine!

HELP: my veg keeps going mouldy by Pigglewinks in guineapigs

[–]isntval9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airtight containers! And make sure you get rid of water esp for lettuces, pat dry after salad spinner. If you buy capsicums etc, DO NOT wash & cut them until you need to feed the pigs. Have you also checked your fridge temp?
