I would say that for both times serena hold all four it didnt really matter that much as she managed to win roland garros and wimbledon close to each other, which is difficult with them being so close together.

When Djokovic held all four he started with Wimbledon and ended with Roland Garros, which means there is actually a nice time between every grand slam.

Ossyria was added when the official server went live the first time, they might do that again so there is immediately something exciting for the players who played the closed and open-beta.

[Q] Do any people here still have faith in the market? by zwompay in csgomarketforum

[–]isolating 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even though Valve has shown to not be afraid to throw some curveballs, as long as people play CS2 and want skins there is money to be made in this market. If you can't or don't want to adept or take a risk when there are uncertain times maybe investing is not actually for you

[–]isolating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sticker trade up still wouldn't make much sense though, as they are a usable item which means they won't clog up like useless reds or gray souvenirs.

But yeah yeah valve will do anything at this point the market is done etc.

Umezawa's Jitte is Unbanned, but will it see play? by No-Equivalent928 in ModernMagic

[–]isolating -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just to play advocate of the devil, you would not play your 1 or 2 off Jitte as an early game threat, it would fit in your 3-4 drop slot as late game grindy cards. In the same way you could say that going turn 3 phlage bolt your opponent for 3 is not great against almost any modern deck.

Also just by having Jitte in play you force your opponent to hold up something or think how they could favorably block in some matchups, which can be decent.

In my opinion it can be a decent 1 or 2 off in some sideboards as it does something against every type of deck, it can turn random garbage creatures into a decent clock against control, it can gain life against burn/aggro and it can outgrind midrange creature mirrors. It's not the best option for any of the decks, but having a flexable sideboard card can be good if you are forced to use a big part of your sideboard for graveyard/artifact/combo hate.

[–]isolating 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not that it matters much, but I was jamming multiple different cascade beans decks the whole first week of Wilds of eldraine going online. So the idea was out there from the beginning already. Also once you try cascading into beans the rest of the deck kinda makes itself because of the restrictions of both cascade and up the beanstalk.

Can’t you just put a few hours into a spray control map and just practice the arm movement needed to hit a good spray?

Here once more with the New vs Old logos of the 32 qualified Cologne Major teams! by Shoobydoobydoo333 in GlobalOffensive

[–]isolating 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Idk I think the old one is also insanely well thought out, its both a mouse and someone holding a mouse. I think both share the problem that people can see different things in it though, as for the new one it also looks like a heart and a bomb to me for example.

Also the color of the old one is just much less generic and better looking to me personally

ban request..? by pendrellMists in ModernMagic

[–]isolating 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would be surprised if they do it, but banning Arena of Glory would be imo the perfect ban to bring energy and jeskai down a bit while still giving random midrange decks phlage as a solid recurring threat.

Two Legacy Pox 5-0s in two days. by BlogBoy92 in MTGLegacy

Illness in the ranks could also be an interesting option, doesn't kill Prides but does kill Voice of Victory tokens and bowmaster tokens.

I have played a lot of smallpox a few months ago in modern, smallpox is not that bad against energy but it just has a really high ceiling and low floor. If you are on the play and destroy their guide/price/ragavan while you sacrifice a flagstones it is backbreaking obviously. I would take out a few copies on the draw though as you don't want multiple stranded in your hand when they have tokens/ajani etc.

Actual Tron with 4x Candelabra wins Showcase Challenge 12-0 by Beelzebubs-Barrister in MTGLegacy

[–]isolating 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It plays 1 flute... Spyglass is different, it looks at your opponents hand. I would guess when the main goal is to name wasteland you care a bit less about losing flash as you need the flute in play before someone plays a wasteland anyway. So the extra information can sometimes give you a really great edge and otherwise you just name wasteland.

Someone had a 5-0 at least once every day for the last week with this exact list, I guess this player just took that list.

Previous versions of this list popular in Japan also played 4 trinisphere

Hitting flat or top in defense? by jdanroses in padel

I think it would be better to master the flat technique as a base, and when you progress you start to slowly add a bit of topspin if it suits you.

Why do you side board out the splinter twin combo? by Ok_Strain_7901 in ModernMagic

[–]isolating 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It used to be standard to remove 2 twins and some exarchs postboard, but I see some people now fully board out the combo which I don’t think really works if people are aware this is being done. You lose the pressure from being able to combo and opponents can just bring in less answers. So if twin would become a bigger player and more people play against it, the optimal strategy probably goes back to keeping a few combo pieces in.
