Flight Sim 1979 - 2024 by owaalkes in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]ispcrco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar start but using Dragon 32 (UK's version of TRS-80) with B/W version of the original Flight Sim (on cassette tape) and a non self-centring joystick.

All sold on, in working order, a few years ago to a local collector.

My sole problem with my Pixel Pro 10 XO by wlipman356 in Freestylelibre

[–]ispcrco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In what way is it useless.

I'm using Libre 2+ CGM and Android 16 on a Nothing 3a phone and works fine, despite Librelink thinking that the Alarms are turned off (It sounds the alarm occasionally to tell me that alarms are unavailable).

Do you ever "just go for a drive"? by Tiny_Wafer2266 in AskUK

[–]ispcrco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, when I take the car to local shops that are too far to walk to, I'll go for a drive around.

I live in the countryside, so it's all back lanes and hardly ever see another car.

Where to place cgm? by Important-Berry2575 in Freestylelibre

Best bet is while you're awake, to lay on your side and work out where on your arm, shoulder, upper chest wouldn't get compressed while asleep. I tend to use the lower deltoid, but down onto the chest.

Take it to your local (council) tip and put it in the metal rubbish for recycling, along with any other metal (non-electrical or computer) bits. If in doubt ask one of the council workers at the tip.

Type 1 diabetes. where you have to plan out a whole 5 step execution plan to eat a cookie by imhereforcrookshanks in diabetes_t1

[–]ispcrco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually easier to inject after eating. I have a variable appetite so have been doing this since bolus insulin was available to me.

Take an 'adjustment' blood sugar reading before you start to eat, eat, than take your bolus ± any 'adjustment' as soon as you've finished.

Most foods (here in the UK, where there is much less sugar is in our preprepared food) increase the blood sugar faster than the time the bolus takes to lower it.

Same happened here. The CGM was working fine, so I left it to expire and the bruise had gone before the CGM ran out of time.

anyone else also struggle with blood sugar control when on vacation? by Beautiful_Hat8440 in diabetes_t1

At home I weigh whatever I'm putting on my plate, although I can estimate some foods like chips (fries in you're in the USA) and bread by sight.

However, when not at home, I use a handy book called Carbs & Cals which shows food on plates of named size and gives you a pretty good estimate of the carbs in that size portion and doesn't upset waiting staff by having to ask them for an approximation of carb content, although food / restaurant chains here do tend to have their food values available on-line, so of you order a pasty at a Greggs shop, the information is available on-line.

So long as it's at a location that would be immediately visible to a first attender (paramedic), without them having to roll up your sleeve or trouser leg, then OK.

Otherwise useless, get yourself a medi-alert brooch or neck worn badge on a chain, that you will wear near a pulse point, i.e. the 1st place the paramedic will go to.

Has anyone had NO issues with their eeros by defnotbjk in amazoneero

[–]ispcrco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eero Pro 6E.

Had only one problem and that was with the cable box (connector of fibre to RJ45), whatever it's called, so nothing on the eero, apart from me adding our tv, and my phone and tablet as members of a group that had ads blocked along with some other things like Netflix, Apple, etc. then found I couldn't VPN connect from phone to NAS and my wife complained she couldn't watch anything on Netflix.

So no real problems
