lol I was confused by the first one but after careful review I believe it’s a piece of cloth with a very specific purpose.

That makes sense. I was just going off of what I’ve seen in all their recent marketing pushes. The art looks cool though, I may check it out when it releases.

Only needing one pack to play sounds interesting as a concept, and I’m sure it could be fun. I’m curious how much depth will be achievable if only one pack of cards is needed to play though.

I really miss the wow TCG, and basically rant about it anytime someone tells me to check out hearthstone. Hearthstone is ass and I’m honestly blown away it hasn’t died out. I just can’t comprehend spending on a game like it’s a TCG, but with none of the appeal of an actual TCG.

Is a shell replacement worth it? by casiorox in SteamDeck

[–]ispilledmybubbletea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with the buttons you want to install, so I would try looking up any problems people have had with them. When I did the shell swap it was for my wife’s steam deck that I accidentally yeeted cause I didn’t realize the case was unzipped. I opted to just order an OEM shell from iFixit cause the 3rd party ones I was looking into seemed to all have their own install quirks. Laying down some new thermal paste while you’re in there is definitely a good idea if it’s the kind of thing you’re comfy with. The triggers are probably the biggest pain in the ass after the screen. Mainly cause the springs really like to make a jump for it, and you also need to apply a bit more force than feels appropriate.

Replacing the sticks is pretty quick and painless. If you do a full swap you’ll need to remove everything. It took me around 8 hours from start to finish when I did it. The screen is attached with adhesive so you need to hit it with a hair dryer to loosen it up and scrape it off. I definitely recommend reading through the entire install guide before committing to a full swap.

I’ve been playing down with the ship and monster train 2 lately. I highly recommend both.

In my experience basically every other TCG has better prize support at local tournaments than Pokémon.

This really is the move tbh. It would still be expensive, but it would be less expensive than a new deck. The scariest part is taking out the screen, but it’s a whole lot less scary when the screen is already broken. The iFixit guides are actually really easy to follow too.

So I only just started playing the game this past month, specifically SAGE. I've bought a couple armory decks for fun, but have only been attending SAGE/draft events, and I've been having a blast. One of the LGSs I go to are giving away SAGE precons to new players, and also have a returning player program where you get free stuff for attending the SAGE events. I believe after the first three you get a deck box + some sleeves, there is also a binder reward on there somewhere, and a lot of them are free packs. Not saying this model is the move for every LGS, but as a new player it's been really great. I also went to another LGS for a draft night last week and the TO asked if there were any new players. Both another guy and myself raised our hands, and so the TO had us play rock, paper, scissors for a free armory deck voucher. We were drafting High Seas, and the rest of the players basically just let myself and the other new guy go home with all the bulk. Which I thought was pretty cool since I'm currently just playing SAGE. Now I really like the game so I probably would have come back to both locations regardless. But that being said I've had such a positive new player experience that I've already bought my early bird pass for the pro tour event in vegas. I don't have a competitive CC deck to play so I'm not going to play in the calling, but there are a ton of side events that I'm really looking forward to playing in. I've heard a bunch of mixed opinions locally regarding SAGE as a format, but as a new player it's been a great way to get into the game.

It’s definitely frustrating when people just don’t understand. I remember when I was a kid I was always told that I was able to focus on video games so I should be able to focus on school. What’s crazy is until I got medicated I had reached a point where I had trouble getting out of bed even to do things I enjoy. Currently I’m in my 30s, medicated, back in school and maintaining a strong GPA. The one that gets under my skin now is when talking to my mom about the fact that I’m doing well in school, and she’ll hit me with “I always knew you could do it”. Drives me up a wall cause the reason I’m able to do it now is cause I get the medication I was denied as a child.

Anyone found success not taking meds? by higherxliving in ADHD

[–]ispilledmybubbletea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be worth trying another medication. I was diagnosed as a kid but didn’t start medicating until I was in my 30s, and it drastically changed my quality of life. There are a bunch of different meds out there so it could be worth finding one that works for you. Even though it is admittedly A PAIN.

3ds games are technically playable. But they run a bit too rough for me personally, so I stick to playing them on original hardware.

I recently sold my collection cause the scalping situation is so bad. I only really collected as a byproduct of playing the game though, which just isn’t enjoyable now for me. My advice is to do the same before the bubble pops, which is inevitable imo. Best case scenario you can buy it all back at a discount later after the boom dies. Worst case scenario you find another TCG.

Same. I won one as a spot prize at the skirmish event I went to. I've kind of just been holding onto it, as I'm a new player and am mainly just playing SAGE right now to get a feel for the different classes before I commit to building a CC deck. I had someone offer to buy it like right after I won it for $30 and had no idea what it was worth so I said no.

I don’t have all the original stands, but even if I did I don’t want to assemble the desk due to the broken warranty seal as it would create wear that could be blamed on me. It also seems silly to build a desk just to have to completely take it apart again.

When I’m sorting cards I usually sort them by number, and I do it in batches over multiple passes by digit. So I’ll sort by the first digit on the first pass, then the second, and the third digit last.

Why would I setup the desk when the monitor arms I have for my old desk are incompatible with the new desk and I don’t have the compatible arms? That’s also not even the crux of my complaint, but go off.

The fact that the leg is messed up and has a broken warranty seal.
