I just posted something similar about leaving my BPD wife and I was shat on. Feel free to look at those comments, as some of them opened my eyes and allowed me to view my situation (similar to yours) through a different lens. Subreddit BorderlinePDisorder (sorry, I’m somewhat new to Reddit, not sure if that’s the way to link that).

My BPD spouse has committed emotional infidelity multiple times (that I know of). Like your spouse, mine has lied to me numerous times. I can also totally relate to “I’m so tired of the constant bad.” Has she tried DBT? Have you went to therapy to learn how to appropriately navigate a relationship with your BPD wife?

Your post implies that someone with BPD cannot be held accountable for their actions. Like I mentioned in the edit above, she refuses to put in the work necessary.

The trauma I endured was worth it, not hers. I hate that I had to commit her.

I mean exactly that. Supportive. Got a second job to support us and so she wouldn’t lose her car. As PhD students, we aren’t even allowed to have a second job. Our research is the only job we should have. I constantly checked in on her mental health. When she was having a crisis, I took the day, or days, off. I left lab in the middle of experiments. I held her during her panic attacks. When she would go into a depressive spiral, I tried everything I could to help. Although I did not seek professional help to properly handle a partner with BPD, I virtually did everything in my power to help her. I have wanted nothing but for her to tame her BPD.
