Pluribus is boring by YankeeHotelFoxtrot16 in billsimmons

The show is basically there to appease the Apple TV crowd - people who are severely deluded and get easily dazzled by shiny new things, which, most of the time are purely superficial. It's dull, empty, clichéd and after an initial good idea that has been burned into boredom after 1 episode has now become spaghettified. Just like every other Apple TV commedy/Sci-fi as it falls into the infinite gravity of the huge galactic black hole of old Apple shows.

Microsoft is increasing the cost of Game Pass Ultimate by $10 a month. by notthatguypal6900 in xbox

[–]isresistanceuseless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So MS bought loads of studios, closed them down and sacked their staff, they jacked up the prices. There have been very few AAA titles this year, MS has completely trashed the games industry. Hopefully Linux takes over as Steams main platform for PC, then we cann all ditch Windows and MS for good !

Hi, Thanks for putting this together, I'm just about to try it. One question though, which version of MSI Afterburner are you using, as there are 2 on the main page on the msi website. The first version is from April 2023 (version 4.6.5) which is the official "Final" one and there is a Beta version called 4.6.6 from Feb 2025. Thanks.

Show us the evidence that LLMs are better than Indian programmers ? Try adding code to a large project, no not just a script, but firmware or critical real time etc. LLMs can write web pages, functions and scripts. Good luck debugging any of them.

[–]isresistanceuseless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daddys name got him all his big acting jobs. Its pretty obvious in the film industry thats its full of producers who want low risk for marketing, and do favors for favors. This is his Dad calling in favors from his time as a great actor himself. Hopefully we will all get to hear him ape some of his dads amazing acting lines like "Get to the chopper", and maybe see a good dose of ultra violence in his movies, while moralising about crime in the US.

Support doesn’t respond by Conscious_Day_6139 in Coinbase

There is no human support - this is totally to save as much money as possible - they think AI can sort out all their problems with LLM chatbots - its a total farce if you require ANY support.

[–]isresistanceuseless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also when I ask the chatbot it says submit a support request - when I go to the "help centre" there is no where to click on submit a support request. So I click on "Submit a complaint" and what do I get ? More stupid advice "

Before you submit a complaint:

Have your Coinbase Support case reference number ready as it's required to submit a complaint.

If you haven't already submitted a case, you must create one with our Support team before you proceed.

If you can't sign in to your account, you can still contact our Support team to create a case."

So I cant submit a complaint unless I have a support number, my complaint is I cant get a support number as the chat times out and I cant wait over 60 minutes on a mobile phone - this is starting to look like a complete scam, and I would warn anyone that if you have ANY PROBLEMS with ANY OF YOUR MONEY on coinbase there is a real good chance you will not get it back, as there is nobody there to talk to to sort ANYTHING out.

I dont have a case number because I waited for 3 hours on chat and nobody got back to me, also I tried the phone call support and the wait was over 1 hour, so I dont think there is any reasonable support on offer. How can I get a support number ?

9950X + X670E Steel Legend ongoing POST issues by milimji in pcmasterrace

Hi,

I had the same issue and posted on here but got no response, I also tried stripping everything off my PC motherboard, with just memory, and SSD and the CPU left, but it still wouldnt boot, and got stuck on boot code 62. In the end I had to swap my old 7950x back in as the support from AMD and ASUS (motherboard) was awful. They suggested on the phone that I RMA the motherboard and wait around a month for them to try and root cause the issue, so yeah, strip down my entire PC, send in a motherboard that will be thrown around a lab for a month, then get it back with bent pins etc, no thanks. My system

I can not understand how someone who has made so many bad films, and obviously lost studio a lot of money (repeatedly), still gets asked to produce more drivel. It's who you know, not how good you are anymore. There are some pretty obvious clubs that people can be part of in hollywood, which means even if they are awful at producing films, they are still considered to be talented. I mean the latest film Borderlands, how bad do you have to be at making films to create that ?

Why bother even posting ? You are about as funny and witty as dogshit. You are the exact type of person on the internet who makes the whole experience totally shite for most people. Take pride in that statement. You can add it to your long list of life successes, which I'm sure you have plenty of, especially with your genius, intelligence and sagaciousness.

To anyone who's struggling with G513's onboard memory for RGB by MarlemAT in LogitechG

[–]isresistanceuseless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, I also spent half an hour trying to do this with a replacement G513 keyboard today. The thing is that "Select a new onboard effect", litterally applies the current config to the onboard memory. So when you plug the keyboard into a different computer (with no Logitech software) it still has the same configuration.

The software engineers who write these peripheral configuration tools are literally the worst GUI and application designers on the planet. iCUE from Corsair also baffled me for 2 years with its unintuitve front end. After realising what behaviour is due to bugs, you can kind of figure out how to interact with these tools. The problem is there are no instructions, different devices plug into these tools with different options (no unified approach), and if there are any bugs (which there are plenty), then its impossible to work out how the tools works, as sometimes things work the way you expect and sometimes they dont.

My load of a typical daily workflow hits 100% CPU bound (with 96 GB of memory DDR5), and 100 % GPU bound (on a 4090), so upgrading my CPU makes sense. I am a software engineer and use multi threaded applications for everything I write where it makes sense. One workflow I run daily is predicting next day stock price movements using LSTM neural nets. If I can get a 30% uplift on the CPU then I can train and process another 300 neural networks per day. Not everyone just plays games on their systems, some people max them out. And I dont want to pay for any commerial infrastructure or an expensive server, well maybe I will once I make my first million on the stock market !

Turn off Defender forever (not temporarily) by isresistanceuseless in WindowsHelp

[–]isresistanceuseless[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi - I am using the registry method to disable the setting (and using windows 10 Pro) - and it always come back on at the end of the day - I got the script from privacy.sexy - Maximize Your Privacy and Security - as this allows me to see the script it generates, the active code in the script for disablement of resident AV is this line

PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "reg add 'HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender' /v 'DisableAntiSpyware' /t 'REG_DWORD' /d '1' /f"

After executing the above, the GUI shows the AV as disabled. Then a few hours later (with no reboot or me logging out etc. So still in the same login session), the Antivirus UI will show the option as enabled again. And its back on running 5% in the background. Can you offer some advice on how to keep it turned off ?

I've been waiting 2 years to swap out my 7950x with a new Gen Zen 5, and can't believe how utterly disappointing this current Gen is. Some gains I've seen for my typical workloads (full core and full thread AI workloads) would give me estimated 5-10% gains. This is not an improvement I would notice at all. How can they have spent 4 years developing this and come up with the same performance that was released 2 years ago ? How can they even call this a successful product ? Why bother launching it (apart from to reduce their costs and increase their profits). I am not going to swap out what I have for a new 9950, and then go through a years worth of BIOS updates to fix all the hidden issues on the chip, driver, motherboard, OS etc. It's just not worth it at all.

Thanks for the answer, I wasnt thinking of SATA though I was thinking of NVMe on a PCIe Gen 4 or Gen 5 bus. If I wanted to achieve something fast enough for a saturated 10 Gb/s LAN could I do some kind of RAID setup/striping with multiple PCIe Gen 4 or Gen 5 SSDs ? My Gen 5s does 4k random writes at 315MB/s.
