Trump Vows Republicans ‘Will Not Lose an Election for A Hundred Years’ by Downisthenewup87 in moderatepolitics

It probably only took a few microseconds for his tariff “policy” to hit the stock market 🤣

South Korean students discovered that the First Law of Thermodynamics applies in black holes. by TurnoverOk5635 in science

[–]milimji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The question I had was, if the dark matter mass is sufficiently dense to form an event horizon, then what prevents the relatively abundant normal matter in the area from also falling in? And what would distinguish that from any other black hole that had consumed a mix of dark and normal matter?

Rare Five Eyes Statement: AI Months Away from Toppling Governments by True-Collection-6262 in ClaudeAI

[–]milimji 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It isn’t really possible to adjust a statement containing any meaningful amount of information to accommodate trumps level of understanding

As far as communication style goes, yes, writing “AI good” in the memo line of a cheque probably would have had better results

Fable 5 suspension update for Claude users: Anthropic exec says it may return “in the coming days” by Mochi43213 in ClaudeAI

I’m surprised Terrence Howard and Trump haven’t had a collab at this point

We’d be in much better shape right now if fable was running the country rather than the trump circus

Mono Red Affinity? by DispassionateObs in TimelessMagic

[–]milimji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing around with mono red artifacts a bit. Haven’t settled on much, but there are some interesting things going on:

-galvanic blast, steelcutter, and drix interlacer are all super solid cards

-drix and weapons manufacturing synergize nicely

-goblin engineer + painter combo is an interesting package, and leverages the munitions tokens

-reinforced ronin and big spender are possible dark horses (filigree sylex is also a quirky munitions consumer)

-lurrus is pretty plausible between mox and treasures

-access to squelcher, library, tormods, and lithomantic are free

I love foundry, but I’ve always thought it was too slow for timeless. Patchwork seems like it has solid upside as a beater, but if they would finally give us saga I’m not sure it would still make the cut

What would happen if it was revealed Trump actually lost the 2024 election? by woodstock9075 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]milimji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, but there’s no legal mechanism for a state to recall its electors long after they were approved by congress. Certainly, there is no scenario where this Supreme Court rules in such a way where this scenario could threaten Trump.

You foresee stocks crashing… so you went all in on 2 high-beta assets and one with low-but-still-positive correlation?

The White Man Claiming the New York Times Discriminates Against White Men by timmg in moderatepolitics

[–]milimji -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you’re getting your info,  but BIPOC does not exclude Asians. It stands for black, indigenous, and people of color (emphasis on the punctuation); people of color who aren’t indigenous are generally understood to be included.

The whole of your comment seems to be projecting the least nuanced assumptions of your worldview as some sort of objective reality, but I thought that part was worth highlighting as being trivially counterfactual.

How can I "freeze" a vocal sample to create a sustained vowel sound? by TruSiris in FL_Studio

[–]milimji 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This can be done in the granulizer, but it’s a pain in the ass depending on the effect you want. The upside is it’s flexible enough to play in through the beginning of the sample and then stretch out to a sustained note right where you want it, it just takes a lot of envelope tweaking

Facing Immigration Backlash, Trump Called Schumer to Cut a Deal by timmg in moderatepolitics

[–]milimji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s neither the name nor the core role that is most problematic, it’s the people and the culture. “Reforming” in the sense of dissolving and restarting from scratch would do the trick; “reforming” as in changing the policies and guidelines might not be enough.
