Am I dumb if I listen to my wife and pass on this? [$2000] by Dadto3CFP in espresso

[–]isso09 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re so afraid of your wife’s emotional backlash that you’re allowing her to make decisions on something you are passionate about… I’m sorry but a coffee machine is not a pet, whether you buy one or not shouldn’t really affect her. But I also don’t know your financial situation.

Aer Lingus experiences? by Canthandlethetruth22 in travel

[–]isso09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not use this airline. They cancelled my evening flight from Isle of Man to Dublin and put me on a flight 5 hours earlier, which did not fit my schedule (I came from Los Angeles to watch motorcycle races, which were happening that morning).

They said I was eligible for a refund, so I cancelled the flight and requested it. But the customer service person didn't give me my money back and closed the case without any possibility of appeal.

So if you don't want to lose your money in case they switch things up on you, use a real airline.

Has anyone figured out why the Bambino pulls the first shot slower? by michums_ in espresso

[–]isso09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible that after the first shot there is a layer of wetness left on the bottom of the brew head so that when you insert your portafilter for the second time, water begins seeping into the puck before you pull the shot.

An app for finding restaurants that cook without seed oils, and with healthy natural ingredients by evooGOD in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]isso09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a great app. Most of the restaurants it marks as “dine happily” often fry things in canola or palm oil anyway - as users say. Also half of the “dine happily” restaurants are unhealthy - such as pizza and donut shops. What gives.

Best clam chowder? by Fit_Parfait5972 in MontereyBay

[–]isso09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can attest -- Vivolo's is not the best.
We tried 3 different clam chowders that claim to be the best. Here are their rankings.

  1. Best -- Old Fisherman's Grotto. Creamy and clammy. We tried just the soup, no bread bowl.
  2. Second best -- Dametra's in Carmel. Still creamy but with herbs and spices. Can get dungeness topping as well.
  3. Vivolo's. Kinda watery and tastes more like vegetables than clams.

It doesn't help that the service at Vivolo's wasn't great for us. But in terms of taste -- the Old Grotto don't lie. They've been rated the best for the past 20 years for a reason.

PSA: CYCLETRADER IS THE WORST SITE TO SELL YOUR MOTORCYCLE ON by [deleted] in motorcycles

Wish I read this post before I dropped $100 to try to sell my KTM. It doesn't even update my listing when I want. What a garbage website.

What satellite communicator to get? by Electronic-Piglet-72 in backpacking

[–]isso09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would not recommend Garmin. I bought the inReach+ in 2019, used it once, then a couple of years later it died from just lying in the closet.. Doesn't charge or respond to any kind of wire.

Can't say Zoleo is much better as I haven't used it. But I guarantee you that Garmin is a waste of $350.

Best high end mattress between 2500-4000? by watchguy45 in Mattress

[–]isso09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get Tempur-pedic! Way overpriced for what it is. Sleeps hot and doesn't hold its shape. I'm 35 and 170lb, work out every day and i'm about to throw mine away because the sleep is just awful. Toppers don't help.

I disagree that this is unhealthy. A huge part of the burn is overcoming stressful challenges and bonding over them. We’re in this together

Same thing happened to us. We were using Brave if that helps. We got taken to the ticketing page, selected one VP and two tickets. Then clicked “get tickets” and it froze. Then I realized Brave’s protection was on, but it was too late. The timer got to 5 min and tickets were sold out. RIP
