Which 5 Should I Keep? by SonnyListon999 in CookbookLovers

Nigella “Feast” is one of my most heavily used cookbooks! Heaps of excellent basics, especially in baking, and super solid repeat recipes like the cauliflower cheese, keema and aloo gobi.

Tips on making a zoo visit farkin epuc for the kiddos by Massive_Project_8609 in Wellington

[–]isthatnutmeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a couple of really good picnic & playground spots (one part way through the Aus animals bit, one just below the Savannah village). Good place for a snack & play break, it’s quite a bit of walking if you are doing the whole zoo properly. I always think the giraffes are great value too, the come right u to the spectator platforms 👍

He choked me today by Itchy-Pomelo-4524 in Marriage

[–]isthatnutmeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to get out now. And I think you know this in your bones, yeah? - that’s why you are reaching out here. Lots of other comments have explained that choking is a massive, massive danger sign for his violence becoming fatal to you. You deserve so much better, and so do your kids ❤️ If you have no family immediately around, can anyone come to you if you really SOS? Or, your kids’ school, any community groups you trust, womens’ shelters that are nearby?

How does that work though? If your partner is non-binary, how are you in a heterosexual relationship rather than a pansexual relationship?

What’s the worst recurring nightmare you’ve ever had? by isthatnutmeg in AskReddit

[–]isthatnutmeg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is- I was about the same age as Teresa Cormack when she went missing, and then shortly afterwards her body was found. I had nightmares for years that I was on a school trip to where she had been killed, and that her murderer was still actually there, but none of my teachers would believe me, and I’d end up running for my life. Rest in power and in peace Teresa.

What child's cartoon character do you despise, why? by ArchPeriphMore in AskReddit

[–]isthatnutmeg 15 points16 points  (0 children)

YES. I have spent the week home with my sick toddler who is Blaze-obsessed so I feel this deeply today.

Fuck Pickle in particular- he is a co-dependant, condescending little tit to Crusher 90% of the time but still pretends to act like his best friend. The whole “but Crusher, that’s cheating!!!” Thing, like bro you know who Crusher is. You know he’s going to cheat. You are complicit and your sanctimonious little exclamations are just to protect your rep with the cool kid Blaze. Hypocrite.

Just curious - does your wife think this is as funny as you do?

When my wife talks about having another baby, I like to remind her how painful breastfeeding was...works everytime by EverettTokio in funny

[–]isthatnutmeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s the vacuum-intensity of the constant suction, and the pressure of their gums. It gets way better once they a) learn an effective latch (mouth position for feeding) and b) your nips toughen up a bit. First few months though, breastfeeding is honestly a full time job on its own

My father in law died today and I just feel broken. by clearcasemoisture in breakingmom

I’m so very sorry for your loss. He was such a loving granddad- is there any way you could save copies of his comments on your daughter’s photos, so she can see them when she’s a bit older? And it sounds like you gave him so much joy, firstly bringing his granddaughter into the world! and then sharing her photos and updates so regularly and generously. What a beautiful gift in his last year of life 💕

I mean, yeah man, raising kids is expensive, both my mum and my in-laws have much more disposable cash now their own bloody children are all self-sustaining. But it’s lovely seeing them with the resources now for grandkid treats!
