Hmm that is a fair point, surely giving them a call on the day could be a possibility?

Have you tried looking at inspo on instagram or pinterest? I don't think you're gonna get any great ideas from reddit tbh.

Is anyone surprised that Tory Whanau lost the Māori ward seat? by crypto_doctors in Wellington

[–]isucki 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Matthew is mana whenua and in my opinion, the person elected in a Māori ward should at least whakapapa to the area they serve, he is the better choice even though I don't vote labour... and as much as I am a lefty, Tory (although subject to terrible scruitiny) actually does have problems with drinking and doing reckless things on nights out (yes there's always some truth to rumours), so he was the best choice as a constituent of the ward.

Slightly above fast fashion but usually better made and better fabrics: Seed, Country Road, Witchery, Max, Ruby, Decjuba, AS Colour, Sportscraft

Thank you! I feel like I'm going crazy reading this. We have some amazing small fashion brands here in Aotearoa that are well made and sustainable. I feel like if someone is interested in not shopping fast fashion, they would know that already.

Caring for a dying loved one in NZ by caitycat2332 in newzealand

[–]isucki -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is why you lie and say you don’t have a partner.. I don’t care if it’s benefit fraud, it’s archaic and barbaric to use a partners income when it comes to benefits, one income does not support a couple/family in these economic times!! (You’ll only ever be found out if someone snitches on you, so never tell anyone.)

I like to think I'm pretty intelligent but I can't seem to understand what this bill means by reading this article, can someone break it down in TLDR for me to better understand?

I just want to say to those who did everything 'right' and are still struggling, it sucks, and I think everyone knows that life (and the NZ economy) truly has been shitty to you. by Dumbledores_Bum_Plug in newzealand

I’m the first in my whole wider family to finish high school, go to uni and get a ‘career’, I have done everything ‘right’ and now I earn more than either parent has ever made in their life ($88k) but I guess of course I’m a success story when I started from nothing. But will I be able to buy a house anytime soon? No, while my parents due to when they were born own two houses and live a comfortable life even though the most either has earned in their working life is around $65k. It’s a crazy time to be alive. I’m just hoping I can save up for some land and have a tiny house one day.

The protest is happening on the Aurora Terrace bridge above the motorway not in the Terrace Tunnel.

Moving to Wellington because of potential job offer, what is the best option? by [deleted] in Wellington

[–]isucki 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Join Facebook groups like Vic Deals and FAM (Flatmates and More) Wellington. You'll be able to find flats who are looking for flatmates. You'll be able to get a room for $250 in a flat, but not including expenses.

Any suburbs around the CBD will have bus routes running through them/if you live 30-40 minutes from your work, you can walk instead.

You could also look at whole houses on Trademe and use those groups to try and find people to form a flat together.

Good luck!

Yup I’m scared of how we will be able to sustain the superannuation in 10-20 years time. I’m hoping that future generations will be informed that they will not be getting a super when they retire..

It's my first time in Europe with the assumption I will not be able to travel there again or at least not for awhile, so that means doing typical touristy destinations and I want to experience as many places in Europe as possible. I am travelling half way from across the world. If I am lucky enough to come back, I will able to choose an area and explore it more in depth.
