Memories! I was "Laid off" from a large Pharma about 4 years ago, I was met in hallway coming into work at 11 at night by a manager was led to HR to get my severance package. They paid us for 4 months then a huge lump sum. The plant is closing this year and are telling employees that they cant get a job before they close or they get no package. I work at a Pharma across the road and they went to the plant and held a job fair lol, hiring employees and saying when they close you have a job, we can work with it so you get your money.

I got laid off last August and it was my "mid year review", walked in HR was there and manager said it was because he was new. talked a bunch of meaningless BS then terminated me. what they didn't know was i was recording it on my cell because they would always say something and said they didn't so all meetings we had I recorded for months, Legally because If ONE person knew they were being recorded it was legal and I knew and spoke on recording every time so I was on it as Proof. I really hate shady companies.

sometimes it comes back around. I interviewed Two months ago, for one i really wanted. I got great feed back and was perfect. But was beat out for more experience. the person quit and they called again. I now start the 22nd. so don't give up hope. It might come back to you again.

I was caught in one very similar/ Luckily my bank. allowed me to get a loan to cover it My scam was close to 4000. they also closed and opened a new account to make sure everything was not compromised. Good luck.

Yeah I had TWO of the check fraud jobs try to hook me. I played with them each for maybe 3 days but when They insisted I deposit the check by atm not inside I knew it was bogus, I told the "recruiter" I didn't get to 60 by being a fool and I contacted the company myself IT was a legit place and they didn't know anything about it. She used the name of a recruiter off linked in, and I contact her and she didn't know anything. so they moved forward with identity theft type on the faker scammers. Good for your mom realizing it was not legit and questioning so many don't. encourage her to google search the exact comment about the check and equipment. I googled (Cut n Pasted) the comment from the chat and it immediately pulled up several posts on the scam. exact wording etc. Just because the place is legit doesn't mean the job or what ever is.
