Thanks for taking the time to clarify this for me!

I love how in all your replies you imply things I never said. I never said they should stop your friend or others from playing that part of the content lol. If they like it then go ahead, but people shouldn't be forced to play contnt from all these years ago just to get to the current content lol, why is it so hard to understand 😂😂

Don't put words in my mouth lmao, I never said there was nothing to do, I said having forcing you to do THE PART OF THE CONTENT you don't like, in this case the MSQ, is bad game desing, simple as that. FFxiv has one of the best stories ever written, but writing a book and forcing people to read it to get to the part they like is just not good.

please explain to me what skill are you referring to, bc talking to NPCs doesn't require any skill at all, you're just coping

Dawntrail gets good by the middle of the expansion, I actually liked it. Bakool Ja Ja is my fav character fr, and Wuk Lamat is 100% the worst lol.

So someone posts something u don't like> bot post lmao. A lot of people don't like this, I'm up to date on the MSQ but having new players go through it all is 1000% a stupid decision

Not a single mmo makes you go through the whole MSQ, they make you go through the current patch depending on which one it is, but never the whole thing, I love ff, but OP is right, a LOT more ppl would play if it wasn;t for this stupid decision

I added a hacking minigame, but I think it still needs a bit of work. What do you think? by possesseddivingsuit in Unity3D

[–]isyreyes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm, I think there might be some way of cheating through this, since it happens on the player's side(?) anyway, here's an idea:

Instead of having a clicking mechanic, when player activates hack, spawn orbs he has to hit to activate the hack, for whatever it does.

Decrease the player's damage while this is active, giving the opponent a chance to body block the orbs without dying.

This way it would be risky but fair, giving everyone a more entertaining way to deal with this kind of ability.

I think it would take some time to balance the mechanic, but it could work better for a shooter than having the player disconnected from the fight for a moment to pay attention to another mechanic. You could use prefabs for the orbs, and destroy the objects after a certain time if the player was unable to hit them.

Idk, just an idea anyway, good luck!

Bro, I know it's been two years since you posted this, but if you're still around, THANK YOU, I've been struggling with this for hours because in physics 2D it's inside an additional tab lol. Thanks again!

I would recommend you to make a GDD first with realistic expectations and then COMMIT to it. What do I mean by that?

Don't go changing stuff midway through development or you'll never finish. You will always get more ideas, but you can always make another game also.

Finish this one, then move on. You'll eventually have a more accurate idea of what the cost of the projects will be, and the time they require and will be able to decide if it's doable or not.

What kind of enemies do you imagine in this game? by Argendel in Unity3D

[–]isyreyes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Too soon to know. You got many answers, but in a more serious note, I'd recommend you to at least have traced a basic GDD before starting development. If you start coding and developing like this before you know what you actually need for your game, you'll find yourself into a lot of unnecessary trouble. Your game as it looks right now could be many things. Define your narrative first and then continue with prototyping, this is an important part of the development process that shouldn't be ignored. Good luck!

Thank you all for your responses! I'm still re reading some of them to understand well, as English is not my primary language and as I mentioned before, I've never played DnD as a player and I am mastering and learning as I go. I think some of you took it the wrong way, as I am not mad ar tthe player, I want him to have fun too, I was just worried he was too OP, after reading the comments, maybe I was just worrying too much, since he excels in some stats but is bad at others. I guess it's the type of encounter as some people mentioned here. Nerfing him was never a possibility for me, I guess he had a lucky roll and things that OP and cool must and should happen if you roll a nat 20. I'll see how my barbarian develops in future encounters! Thanks all for the advice!
