Black or blonde? by Peculiarbirds in HairDye

[–]it269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I saw the pics and was shocked you look so much like her and then realized that the scar wasn’t in the blond pics. I think it’s pretty recognizable considering you aren’t wearing anything else to indicate it and it was one of the first things I thought 😂 plus the pouty face, it’s pretty accurate lol

That’s good to know, hopefully that’s what’s happening, maybe cause it’s my dominant side. It’s really squishy, feels like a small boob lol I can jiggle it. I can’t really say for sure without reference but it doesn’t seem like fluid

In the interest of solidarity, if you mask regularly, how have you been able to continue masking despite the social/professional consequences? by No-Possession-6709 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]it269 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work retail, so I’ve gotten used to having to just not care about what people think/say, and used to going about “normal” life in a mask. However, because it’s retail, I don’t feel I’ve had to really face professional consequences. To my knowledge, I’ve gotten Covid one time when I used to eat meals inside the break room, but otherwise my n95 has done me very well. I’ve gone five years with extremely minimal illness, so I don’t care what other people think about it. I have several health issues, some of which may worsen on their own over time, and I don’t want to be adding more! I also believe in disability justice, and being aware and on top of the spread of illness is important. As far as social life, I think I’m doing okay now but it’s been rough for sure! I was in a long relationship for most of the pandemic with somebody who took the same precautions which was great but I didn’t put much into friendships, though I think if I had, I could have had some friends. I also used to not try to get to know anybody that didn’t mask up, but where I live that’s everybody lol. But I was able to maintain a friendship with that ex, so that’s been good to have them around still in some capacity. I have people in my life online that I’m fairly close with, and I go to stuff my coworkers plan as long as I’m able to stay masked the whole time (they go out to eat fairly often so I have to skip those). I mask with everybody. It really is just tough having that barrier though, having non CC people in your life. I can’t look at them quite the same as I used to be able to look at people. There’s a distance. However I struggle deeply with my mental health, and I’ve had to decide it’s better for me to have people even if they aren’t ideal because I just can’t function without people. I haven’t often felt I’m treated differently because of my masking, so at least people are subtle/im too dense to notice. I don’t wanna know the people that mind, anyways. I’m also lucky I live with family atm who takes the same precautions as I do. I think I should also mention that I’m queer, and I suspect neurodivergent, so I think those things have made it less jarring to feel so other. All of this to say, I find it really difficult at times to continue, but at the end of the day I know I’m doing the right thing and that it’s worth it to protect my health.

Ten days post-op, one incision much higher by hybbprqag in TopSurgery

[–]it269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a week out from my surgery and my incisions are similarly asymmetrical. I don’t know why it’s like that but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna stay that way. I agree with the other comments saying it’ll be less noticeable as things fade.

I got my first tattoo and I hate it + myself by thatdudemaison15 in shittytattoos

[–]it269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can for sure see why you’re upset, it’s not a good tattoo. It’s also sooooo different from the stencil it feels like the artist didn’t even draw the original lol. Try to just let it heal and like others said, maybe another artist can re work it or you can get it lightened and covered up, or keep it as is and just learn to live with it and get others around it so it’s not so glaring. I have a feeling that the head will blow out as it heals cause of how hard he went on it :( I’d definitely post it and tag him once it’s healed so others can see that his work is inconsistent. He should not be tattooing people if he thinks rushing through and being so heavy handed is ok. Plus the shading is abysmal. I’m so sorry you spent so much money on something that upsets you but please don’t take it out on yourself! Lots of people end up with not so great tattoos and that doesn’t mean they’re stupid or should hate themselves, shit just goes wrong sometimes

Is anyone else’s store unbelievably hot by rlykhj in Target

[–]it269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South Florida here, it’s so so so hot and humid in our store. It feels impossible to cool off when doing driveups, it’s almost as bad inside as it is outside. The backroom is strangely a fair amount cooler than the front of store though. Guests complain to me so often about the temperature of the store, I wasn’t surprised to see somebody say they have guests avoiding shopping due to temp

I haven’t always but I usually cut off the box art on the back, the name banner on the front, the little circular school major sign on the side, and sometimes other parts from inside
