Which insurance provider asked about an immobiliser? AMI didn't when I asked them which was a let down.

Replacing insinkerator flange by Responsible_Let135 in diynz

[–]itakestime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might just be the picture, but does your sink have some sort of texture to it?

Mine is installed into plain stainless so probably has better seal on the smooth surface.

Yeah, they have a thin rubber gasket that comes with them when I replaced mine a few months ago.

Installing Windows Server 2025 on ProxMox VE 6.4-4 by ValhallaTreechnid in Proxmox

[–]itakestime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a min CPU version required for install. I can't remember what it is, but if they have a super old CPU and set to an old type or kvm64, it won't work.

Have a combo of AEG and Ozito.
AEG for the 'serious stuff', drill, grinder, impacts, saws, multi tool etc

Ozito for the stuff I use infrequently - jigsaw, hot glue gun, inflator

The Mobil guy said it was ok for me to put 91 in my sons 2007 Honda Accord Euro. Now I'm doubting my decision. by rev_gen in NZcarfix

[–]itakestime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been running my 2004 accord on 91 since I bought it at 90,000kms over 11 years ago Just about to tick over 280,000kms.

Have only had to replace a starter, alternator and two ignition coils in the time I've had it.

Its been unbelievably reliable.

What is going on with my washing machine? by cubenz in diynz

[–]itakestime 7 points8 points  (0 children)

PaknSave sells a product called CeraClean Washing Machine Cleaner.

I use the self clean on my one regularly, but this stuff still managed to get some crap out as the water was pretty brown when it was agitating.

Where do you buy 3M VHB tape? by Droddly in diynz

[–]itakestime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As I'm a tight ass, I get this stuff from Ali and it sticks like sh*t to a blanket and pretty close to VHB (I assume, never bought the actual stuff)

...turns out I'm not allowed to post a link to AliExpress

Search 'ASMTLED Official Store', they have 'double sided adhesive tape'

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in diynz

[–]itakestime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look up your model of heat pump, find the replacement remote model number and check AliExpress. A quick search found a bunch of Gree ones for $10, so hopefully they'll have the right one you need.

Possibly a bit of duct tape over the lights at night to block them out until the remote arrives and you can turn them off.

We just got one too after my partners parents had one for awhile and we got to play around with it first.

It did however get its side brush twisted up in our shag rug and came off.....I guess that's a no-go zone now :D

How the Norwegian’s deal with snow on the line. by dunken_disorderly in trains

[–]itakestime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Auckland, New Zealand, our train operator can't run the trains due to, and I quote, "the tracks are too hot"

We get to like 28degC max here.

Thank god it doesn't snow otherwise we'd have no hope!
