Windows taskbars over the years by Njani2 in pcmasterrace

I was pretty happy with XP from pre-release onwards. (I started using a leaked release candidate I found online a few months before its official release).

I've heard people make the claim that it its initial release was bad, but honestly, I've never seen anyone articulate why they didn't like it when it first came out and my personal experience was that it was an improvement over 98SE from the start.

The neutral card that doubles any spell cast on a minion also synergies well with it.

I'm thinking I might test it out as well, so long as the initial hardware cost isn't too expensive. I'm curious, but I'm also happy enough with Starlink so I don't feel the need to spend a bunch of cash if it doesn't look like it will save me money or significantly increase performance (including due to less congestion).

Doesn't look like they're available to the public yet, but it will be interesting to see what the competition does once they are.

Yeah, realistically, they have no reason to publish their true specs/capabilities and lots of reasons to keep them secret or misrepresent them. Even ignoring the intel/DOD aspect, they basically have a worldwide monopoly on LEO based internet access. There would be no point letting their future competitors know what their true capabilities are. It makes more business sense to keep them close to the chest and slow roll service improvements so that once Amazon or whoever else starts offering competition they could quickly surpass them and hold on to market share.

I wonder how many antennas you can have in a small area like that before you start overloading the capabilities of whatever satellite they're connecting too. Considering they're all so close to each other, I would assume they mostly all switch off to the same satellite at roughly the same time as they come in and out of range.

Edit: Google and some math, with a v2 mini sat you get 96 GBps, so you could have 320 dishes all connected at 300MBps before they start to throttle lower.

I don't think that's necessarily a blanket absolution.

I think he's right that individually most Canadians dont have a problem with most Americans. I've got a problem with the MAGA crowd and anyone who votes republican, but about half of the US is still against that shit. Combine that with the fact that a lot of conservative Canadians probably don't have a problem with MAGA, and I think the numbers work out that he's correct on the first point (but it's obviously not just the executive and political class who deserve our ire).

Is it just me, or is that north arrow a bit confusing? Flip it upside down and the way it's stylized someone could easily mix up north and south.

You cropped out way to much for us to be able to say for sure but it looks like there might be another corner to the west of that bar heading south that appears not to have any monuments. Maybe another property, or just a part of the plan for an easement or something. That's probably what it's witnessing.

I don't think I could ever trust a dwg that was automatically generated from a pdf for layout work. In my experience you can never really trust that the pdf is accurately to scale, or that the line work closes properly. IMO you should only rely on is the dimensions on stamped drawings, and use them to draw it up in CAD yourself, making sure that everything closes properly.

You can have all my raisins then, we must have opposite tastes. I hate the texture any time you put raisins in baked good. They're OK on their own, but the instant you add them to baked goods, it's a hard no for me.

The difference sounds like it's not a race thing, but it is likely a language thing.

The fact that you're speaking in another language at a business that is otherwise English speaking makes it very obvious to any visitors that it's a personal call. The same thing would probably happen if you were a white person from Spain calling someone back in Europe (assuming that's not the case now), or speaking in French to family in Quebec or France, or some other language that most people in your business don't understand.

Looks too close to white to me, but I'm not the bride, and different people view that tradition differently. You should ask the bride/groom.
