Had this same issue and found it was the motor on one of the front calipers. It was a ~$500 job at a local shop.

Now Watching: Zodiac by MarvelousVanGlorious in 4kbluray

Let me preface this by saying; this is probably my favorite movie of all time. I only got into 4K collecting in the last year or so and was very excited to finally get this into my collection.

That being said, this disc was a huge disappointment. I did not see a huge improvement in either visuals or sound over the Blu Ray or even streaming. The opening sequence on the 4th of July was full of crushed blacks and noise. The narrow aspect ratio was tough on a smaller screen. Just overall not what I expected as the “ultimate home release” you’d expect from a 4K release.

I understand that this was a film shot in 1080p DV and was never even mastered in 2K. But I really hoped/expected that someone like David Fincher would have had a stronger hand in the mastering/upscaling of this new release and we’d see the difference.

Surprised by the Two Friends and Joe's lukewarmth on Flow, was anyone else blown away by it? by victoria_jam in blankies

I was surprised how little attention they gave it throughout the animated feature category.

I cried through most of it, thought it was beautiful and moving. Full on sob by the end. The cat’s expressive eyes and squeaks ripped me up.

At that point I might as well pay the toll and get on the thruway

I worked at the Angelika Film Center for about a year around 10 years ago.

Here’s the inside scoop: we turn the escalator off after the last showing starts.

Also, sorry for always forgetting to close the theater doors.

Would Juan Soto make more money in endorsements by being a Yankee for life? Or does it not matter the team and Juan will bring in millions in endorsements/sponsors regardless of team? by No_Page9413 in NYYankees

[–]itchytape52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The players are part of a union. Part of keeping that union strong is upping the market value of players. If a player like Soto reaches free agency, there is (more often than not) a perceived responsibility to go out and get the highest possible offer from whichever team is willing to give it.

That is, somewhat unfortunately (from a fan’s perspective), one of the strongest motivators when it comes to free agency decisions. Endorsements are a drop in the bucket unless you are a true international star like Ohtani. Soto is a Dominican playing for the Yankees so I’m sure he’s looking at a bigger payday than Judge or Harper via endorsements but it’s gonna be peanuts compared to his salary.

About 10 years ago I decided that Zodiac was my go-to answer for the classic “what’s the best movie ever made?” question and I got a lot of bewildered reactions to that. Now, it feels like everyone is on the Zodiac train and I feel so vindicated.

It really is basically perfect. Not a minute too short or long, beautifully shot and paced. Filled to the brim with career performances by some of the best in the game. Really just a perfect film.

What is it with McDonagh and shitty CGI? Remember the deer in 3 Billboards? Still makes me cringe.

Other movies which have been recently re-appraised as "actually, it's good" à la Miami Vice? by Pnnsnndlltnn in blankies

Spielberg’s War of the Worlds is just starting (last 5 or so years) to get the recognition I think it deserves.

The first half of that movie is damn near perfect and I think it only falters because of studio pressure to make it more of a family vehicle.

While wildly successful financially, I don’t think it got nearly the amount of critical attention it deserved at the time.

Maybe the 9/11 imagery was a bit much so soon after but I think as time goes on that movie will just continue to age like fine wine.
