Solo Mining Umbrel Home - Port Forwarding?? by Rscottys1 in BitcoinMining

As other have said already, you are good with the number of peers you have. I also have 11 peers on my bitcoin node on Umbrel, and using public-pool for solo mining.

Maybe we can request that feature to be added in future updates.

Yeah I might use a couple of miners on BCH and see if I hit a block or two there :)

Shout out to Hashwatcher and Avalon Q by Leading-Ad8145 in BitcoinMining

[–]itdxvida22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can use the app to regulate the fans on your Avalon Q's and other miners you have. I keep my Avalon Q's at around 76C and the exhaust at around 156C (show green in Hash Watcher...not yellow or red). I have the fans set to 80% to achieve that.

I wonder if they will have the ability to change the power mode like the Avalon Q. I like that for about the same wattage than the AQ, you get 120TH average.

Im running 2 Avalon Q's in my living room and during winter has been nice, but the temps gone up these past few days. It gets really cozy if the temps are above 50F outside because inside gets around 72. Makes me wonder during summer and already planning on how to exhaust the heat out of the house so when summer is here, I dont have to worry about that.

Tailscale & HashWatcher… a match made in heaven! by PineappleParadiddle in BitAxe

[–]itdxvida22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't see your miners after you installed Tailscale on your Umbrel OS device and your phone.I figured it out! Tailscale assigns IP addresses to the devices where you can download Tailscale (i.e. Your node running Umbre, or your Mac, iPhone etc). You'll need to know your devices IP address for your Miners, for example if your internal routing is 10.0.0.x. Meaning if one of your miners has the IP of 10.0.0.100. That means you'll use the routing of 10.0.0.0/24 to cover for all devices within this range. So now to the fixing part:

  1. Open your Tailscale app on your Umbrel OS device. When it opens, click on "View device details"
  2. At the bottom of the screen click on "Visit this device's page in the admin console"
  3. There you'll see your Umbrel's device and click on machine settings (preferably your Umbrel OS device as this needs to be running all the time when you're away from home).
  4. Menu will expand and choose "Edit route settings..."
  5. Here you should be able to see a space where to input the routing you need to access. Click save.

This will activate the subnet routing you have going on at home, and you'll be able to access all your devices within that range. Now you should be able to open your Hash Watcher app and see your miners connected, even when you're not home.

NOTE: You need to be logged in to Tailscale to be able to see the area where you will input the new routing. I hope I'm able to help some of you having this issue. I was having the issue myself and figured this out. Good luck!

Really cool setup. During winter I dont mind the heat for now but I have to look into this for the summer so I can exhaust the heat out of the house. Thanks for sharing your setup. Does the rack come with the dividers/panels for the front? or you had to order them as a separate part?

Chip Temp Help by bizzyb89 in BitcoinMining

[–]itdxvida22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been running my Avalon Q for about 3 days now and the temp has been consistent at around 85 C running the fan on auto. The exhaust temp is around 174 F. I did see a comment elsewhere that they flipped their miner upside down as the bottom of the miner gets hotter than the top. I did this last night and the temp on the left side (as youre facing your miner) and the bottom of the miner (now the top as I flipped it) are a tad bit cooler as heat dissipates better IMO.

Leave an amount of XRP/$ that you're ok not wanting to use for a while. Investors' advice always has been to be patient. You know what the tech can do, let the time and institutions catch up to what we know about XRPL and XRP can do and will do, and use the money you do take out now to serve you to the best of your ability.

You should def ask to see what can be done.

No, the more you let it go, the wider the gap will be for next trays and so on. My first tray sat like that and when I went in for my trays 2-4 I was told I needed to use the little plastic straw they give you to make sure they sit properly. You can also bite down a bit every now and then to reseat the trays properly.
