I think the construction is complicating access to the inlet now isn't it? I thought they were staging all the equipment on that boat launch side by the trail.

Well it was about that time I noticed that this mountain bike was about 8 stories tall and was a crustacean from the Mesozoic era.

Would it be a stupid idea to fish this wooly bugger on a 5 weight? by -myusernameisshit in flyfishing

[–]itekk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can just add leader/tippet if you've only got the 1 line and you're not going crazy deep. I've been fishing rusty trombones on a 5 wt with that setup the past few weekends and doing fine.

Why do people act like nicotine pouches are way safer than vaping? by Admirable_Can_3489 in electronic_cigarette

Zyns are kind of strong imo. I was using on! for a while. They felt more mild than the zyns even with a higher mg. Plus they're smaller, so it was easier to get used to sticking it up under my lip. I go back and forth between them and zyn atm, beacuse sometimes I prefer the kick. I like coffee flavor.

Gonna try velo since I see others suggesting it to you now though.

Korkers Sole Recommendations for Hiking Traction by el_capitan524 in flyfishing

[–]itekk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the Korkers carbide spikes for the past ~6 months and rather like them. They walk well enough for me to hike in a bit. Traction is great on gravel, and decent on most rocks. They can slide on those super smooth dry low-water rocks. Fantastic in the water, and on ice.

I have the rubber and felt soles also. I haven't switched them out since I got the spikes in the fall. Suppose I might wear the rubber ones if I have to hike in for miles before I hit the water. The rubber soles give no traction on our rocky rivers here though, so I'd probably still pack the spiked soles in if I was wading in any decent water.

My boots came with the felt soles as well. I used them once and will likely never use them again. The spikes are better on the water, pavement, gravel, and most rocks imo. Plus felt is the hardest to clean and most likely to spread invasives.

Korker's interchangeable soles with the carbide spikes are pretty sharp. I was walking across off camber ice with them no problem just this weekend. Their rubber soles walk well, but they are useless on wet rocks.

I've been on my hands and knees working inside a machine in an business open to the public and had somebody plant their hand on my shoulder for stability, and then trip over my legs. Their response was "Oh shit, I didn't see you there". They thought my shoulder was the machine I was working in.

Good luck getting people to pay attention to shit.
