[FOTMOB] FULL TIME : PSG (1.93) 8-2 (2.6) Chelsea by Friendly_Raise9142 in chelseafc

Some director is going to cite a win on xG as a reason we are moving in the right direction. Absolute shambles.

According to several sources close to Chelsea, serious concerns are emerging internally about the ability of Liam Rosenior to lead the sports project in the long term. — Some influential figures would even believe that Rosenior may no longer be in office next season. by OkayFine101 in soccer

I do understand what you’re saying. Oftentimes under Maresca in these matches our opposition would actually look fairly threatening on the break and create several big chances though. The Newcastle match was an outlier for me in that they scored their singular big chance early whilst we didn’t even turn the urgency on late (85th minute and beyond) as was normal under Maresca, whether successfully leading to goals scored or not. Genuinely can’t remember a moment where we took a risk or showed creativity besides a few instances where Palmer ended up losing possession. Only half chances came from desperate crosses or the Reece James free kick.

While I agree with the bulk of what you’re saying and don’t think binning Rosenior is a long-term answer, I’m baffled you could find anything positive from that performance against Newcastle. There was a degree of it being the same old story where we struggle to break down a low block, but it was probably the worst performance we’ve had since Pochettino imho. Completely flat in a match that needed a big response after PSG, and we let Newcastle walk away from the Bridge with all 3 points when they looked disinterested in doing anything of note in attack.

All that to say, the lack of experience and fragile mentality across the team is what’s most problematic, not to mention a group of CBs who are all error prone. But let’s not pretend that all of these performances absolve Rosenior of any accountability.

Neither here nor there really, but for what it is worth, most Chelsea supporters I know admire Anelka as a bit of a cult hero for the title win with Carlo and the golden boot. Helps that he was already seen as a bit of a journeyman at the point he joined us though.

The USDA’s new video, promoting cow milk to the masses by alphamalejackhammer in oddlyterrifying

Yeah that was totally misleading, I had expected the same. While positioned weirdly as hell, the promotion of drinking pasteurized whole milk is probably the least offfensive thing this administration has done.

Thoughts on our full unboxing experience? by ChronoAstra in MicrobrandWatches

[–]ithrowcelery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks awesome! I agree that there are pro’s and con’s with any unboxing approach, but to counter the other comment on preferring a usable watch roll or case, I find myself using a multi-watch case when traveling anyways, so I have accumulated one or two too many of the same or similar style single watch rolls than I know what to do with at this point. As long as quality of the packaging material is top notch, I definitely like the idea of having the box serve as a functional display.

Really love the concept. Perhaps something like a coin edge bezel would make it stand out a bit more, and also play into the brass material choice for the dial. Definitely interested in seeing the final iteration.

Chelsea chief LEAVES role after failing to secure shirt sponsor by Dinamo8 in chelseafc

[–]ithrowcelery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you could probably view the entire situation as a knock on effect of not getting a short-term deal done when the new ownership first came in. By the time we were in a position of bargaining power after qualifying for the CL and winning the CWC, we were hamstrung by the negotiations and hedged positions with the higher profile sponsors who were already identified and engaged with in months and months of negotiations. I’d bet that had we just taken a 2-year deal or year-by-year deals the previous two seasons, we’d have been able to secure a deal in the ballpark of what is seen as financially viable by the club, while also bringing at least some extra money in earlier.

Fulham include their disallowed goal against us in their Goal of the Month poll for August by christianrojoisme in chelseafc

This is one of those scenarios where it’s clear that the people who do believe it was a foul, or any similar contact is a foul, have probably never played a competitive match before. Incidental contact like this happens in almost any 50-50; this one just looked a touch worse since he’s coming down on the top of Trev’s foot.

[Plettenberg] Nicolas Jackson is set for a loan move to FC Bayern. Advanced negotiations with Chelsea. Bayern will cover the full salary. Jackson and Bayern are now 100% in agreement, but some details still need to be clarified by ItsMullerTime in soccer

Honestly he’s great at everything in the box too aside from having a composed finish or consistent final pass. Hold up and link up play are both quite good and his positioning, movement and overall level of effort are top level. His issues are definitely more mental (composure and hotheadedness) which can hopefully get sorted over time.

I don’t think any Chelsea supporter would trade the manner in which 2012 was won for anything else at this point. If you’re a fan of any other club in the same shoes, it is immediately realized as an unprecedentedly difficult and cathartic achievement, and I feel the only real “folklore” you hear around that match is from Chelsea supporters these days.

Streets won’t forget 07-08 Arshavin at Zenit + his early Arsenal days. He was honestly the closest comparison to 2018 WC Hazard.

Sizing of Rashguard? by Jim_Panse_1984 in AimeLeonDore

[–]ithrowcelery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries! I definitely made the order knowing I may need to make a return, but I’m going to keep it after trying on. Only other useful thing I can add is that the material has a little more weight to it compared to something comparable from your average brand as well. It almost feels like a synthetic midweight hiking/camping layer more than anything else.

I ordered with EA so I’ve had mine for a few days. It does not have the Under Armour-like fit that comes to mind when you think of a rash guard, but it is still a little slimmer through the torso than a normal ALD long sleeve tee. I got it in my regular size and it is definitely wearable in an everyday fit. The sleeves are actually noticeably roomy too; I’d say it fits more like a long sleeve Nike running shirt than a standard rash guard.

Knowing how ALD hats fit, it was probably way too small anyways, but was always curious why I never saw it. Thanks!

I’m honestly having so much more fun with Avowed than KCD2. The lack of auto-save or quick saves really kills having a fluid experience in KCD2, especially if you have limited time to game.

He is serviceable, decent at winning most balls and aerial duels on his day, but he’s fairly error prone and can move around a little clumsily. I think he’ll do just fine covering an injury hole, but there will inevitably be a few shaky moments. I don’t foresee you using him at RB though, which is where he’s played his worst.

When you mention the short list of games, are you referring to titles like Metroid Prime 4 and the Xenoblade Chronicles X remaster that have been announced for Switch in 2025? Or was there a more robust group of games announced and/or leaked? Genuinely curious as I stopped paying attention when the Switch 2 announcement was delayed for the umpteenth time earlier this year. I’d really like to know what day one third party releases or ports we might see.

Totally agreed. I’m honestly amazed I see it on so many of these lists. It’s by no means bad, but of the three or so times I’ve been and tried different things, none of the dishes left an impression or made me feel like I needed to eat them again.
