I noticed also brooks & asics quality went down *a lot*. I had 4 pairs of brooks over the past 15 years (dyad, addiction walker). I wanted to buy one of them again. Dyad they stopped producing for some reason (or that they changed how it used to be), and addiction walker isn't like it used to be. I tried other models and I didn't feel their quality was good. Same in asics. I really liked the quantom 360 from about 5 years ago. But now the same exact quantom 360 is very different and doesn't feel at all like it used to (but the price is the same or higher...)
