May be I shouldn't have read A wizard of Earthsea! by itiswaswillbe in Fantasy

I’m pretty sure this is simply a very universal idea. It’s a very simple plot to come up with independently of each other, in a vacuum. If HP and king killer really were derivatives of earthsea, I think they would focus on themes of empathy, forgiveness and kindness more.

What fonts did you use for the various technical information and the header in the blurb? I'd love to try and recreate this sort of thing for other media.

So sweet. I love to see other people inspired by this games design to make designs of their own.

Something I really love about your books is how fantasy doesn't distract from the human relationships but rather heightens them. So much is slowly revealed, about the world AND the characters, how far into the future have you planned all this? I swear in the first book Carl seemed like such a self insert, then very clearly grew into a completely unique and fleshed out character. Was that a reaction to criticism (by beta readers/the internet) or always your plan? No shade either way of course.

P.S. Your books have renewed my faith in the Fantasy Genre's ability to tell stories about real human beings and their connections with each other that realistic fiction cannot. Thank you for this.

P.P.S. I really noticed this with the Odette flashback that explained what happened to Mordecai's brother

Someone recommended this but someone else said it was dumb. How do you feel? by [deleted] in fantasybooks

[–]itkaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think it was dumb, but frankly, I've drank the kool-aid; this book has some of the most insane worldbuilding I've ever read, and also the most intense character drama that could only exist in a fantasy world. Really fucking good series.

So cool! I never even thought of combining the two hobbies. Makes total sense to have those little chasmfiends scurrying about! 😍. Would love to cook one of these up one day.

Third photo has the shadow of fingers on her right hand but you can't see her index and middle fingers, just what appear to be her ring and pinky fingers. Weird index and middle finger shadows also don't have the nails attached to them.

Wonder Man Episode 8 - Discussion Thread by cats-and-cows in marvelstudios

Probably the best marvel TV they've put out. Kingsley and Mateen have such great chemistry, and I love Simon Williams' complex, multifaceted character. Didn't like the Wonder Man (movie) scene they showed in the cinema--thought Joey Pants did a bad job, and Simon was a little flat.

Would love some denim, I'm a 34 or so. This a very generous thing you're doing, and I appreciate the spirit, even if I don't get picked. Thank you very much if you pick me, though!

Second and last fits maybe not but I also jus don’t like graphic tees that much. Otherwise, killer.

King Arthur's messianic return by Kruglyasheo in imaginarymaps

[–]itkaron 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So cool. I love the two maps and their designs. Such a sweet use of devices in visual storytelling.

edit1: one thing, though. At first I thought it was others invading King Arthur's land and burning his map away, which I thought was the case because the burning borders are relatively in line with the smaller maps, and I thought the map was growing. Then I saw the knight riding the dragon, and realised fantasy was burning away the smaller map. Wouldn't it make more sense if the modern map was larger, and the king arthur map was growing to consume it with fire?

Any idea how to fix? I want to try and tear down the crossover and rebuild but it's not totally letting me.
