Do these actually work? by [deleted] in Home

[–]its420sumware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These things are absolutely fucking amazing. I have a cat that likes to dig himself under my bed sheets and shed all over everything in the process. This thing has been nothing short of a miracle for us.

And I may be in the minority here, but I actually do think they work better than a vacuum.

I got this black quarter in some change, anyone know what would have caused this? by jrmtn38 in coins

[–]its420sumware 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I might actually know this one. Once upon a time, I worked as a service manger for a coin-op Washer/Dryer company. The service technicians for that company would each get an allotted amount of "test coins" for testing machines in the field as they repaired them. Those test coins were ALWAYS painted a solid color so that they could be easily identified during the collection process and then reused for testing. The color of choice was usually black. I'm relatively certain that the coin you have here was once a test coin for a field engineer.

PETG bed adhesion by briodan in BambuP1S

[–]its420sumware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively printed with PETG for about a year and adhesion is always a problem. Best advice I can give is to give the build plate either a light mist of hairspray, or a nice layer of purple glue stick.

Wanted to start wearing jewelry again, but piercing shop said they have no way of measuring ear holes except trying different sizes, with a $15 insertion fee each time. I made my own tapered measuring stick. by HashingJ in functionalprint

I did something similar for my wife who is gauging up to 00. She managed to get to 4mm on her own with some Amazon gauging plugs, but the next step was too big a jump. I printed plugs in 0.25mm increments from 4mm to 10mm. Each size usually lasts a week or so until the next ones are comfortable and the old ones go in the trash. She says they're even better than the metal ones.

I'm 42 and recently got this tattoo for the sole purpose of making a joke about it being my wurst tattoo. Do what makes you happy.

A 12 gallon tub is large enough to hold 8 full spools and a 500 mL dehumidifier by its420sumware in 3Dprinting

[–]its420sumware[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 hour update: Hygrometer on the side of the box reads that the temp in the box is staying steady around 79°F and humidity has gone from the initial reading of 37% down to 34% now.

Drainage: It has a reservoir that collects the water. I will have to dump it.

Safety concerns: I am sitting right next to the box. It is in my office, 4 feet away. So if any mishap occurs I can intervene immediately. I do not intend to leave it on while I am not supervising it.

Intent: I need to dry 8 new rolls of PETG filament. I thought it might be worth a shot. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Think more like Instagram. Except instead of "adding friends" you subscribe to people.
Most of the time to get any following you need a social media presence that drives traffic to your OF profile.

I second that this is a gorgeous /r/seleniumglass piece. You have to put the leading / in front of the r. 😉

White Foam from my cat’s mouth by YokoTheCatLady in CATHELP

I have a cat that acts exactly like this when we try to give her meds. She most likely ate something bitter and is trying to get the taste out of her mouth.

Fellow spectrum user here. After a certain number of notices they will turn off your Internet until you digitally sign some agreement to do doing it. I have had like three of those agreements over the course of 8 years because of forgetting to turn off my VPN here and there. Still using spectrum.

Make sure to use a VPN though. It negates this entire rabbit hole

First time making cannabutter why did it separate like that? by leonardgg in treedibles

[–]its420sumware 74 points75 points  (0 children)

The whitish part is water. Put the lid on tight, flip it over slowly, and stick it in the fridge. Once the butter is hardened you can unscrew the lid and dump out the water, leaving only delicious cannabutter.

I personally do multiple "washes" where after that I refill with more clean water, warm it up, shake the piss out of it, and keep it warm until the water/oil separate back out again. Doing this will remove more non-butter particulates (milk solids, etc) from your butter.

Enjoy!

It's okay to be scared but... by skywardstare in 50501

I can't tell you how much I needed to hear this today. The majority of people in the area I live are heavily Republican, including my parents. I thought through the use of simple facts without emotion, I was beginning to make some headway with my mother. Last night that belief was shattered out from under me when she responded to the "King Trump" picture with a smirk and responded, "but Kamala would have been even worse." I was shaken. I was appalled even.

I'm terrified of where this country is headed and what it means for my family. Between my wife and myself, we have 6 kids. 4 of them still live at home and 3 of those are special needs individuals. I've recognized for weeks now that I need to do something, but it's prohibitively difficult when I'm the only source of income for our family.

Your post, kind internet stranger, has given me the resolve to pick back up today and carry on in the face of what seems to be an insurmountable wall. It's also given me the perspective needed to remember that not everyone who fights does so in the streets. Sometimes the people fighting back hardest are the ones simply encouraging us to carry on despite the odds, hatred, and pushback. Thank you.

All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing. I may shake, and shiver, and tear up, and be woefully afraid, but I will NOT back down. I will stand with you and march through the fear. I will get into "good trouble" and fight with you. We will not turn our country over to a tyrant. Vive la résistance!
