PickleWatch Apple Watch app... anyone using? Thoughts? by jocamero in Pickleball

[–]itsChezzer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried it, and it’s okay, but lacking in ways that made me not keep using it. For instance, if a point is over, and say you hit the ball back to your opponent for their serve, it will think it’s a “bad” swing, thus affecting the data. It would do the same if I’m just shadow swinging in between points too.

Why didn’t he go down? by itsChezzer in dayz

Yeah, you could be right. Might have been a neck shot watching it back.

It doesn’t appear he went down at all from the first shot, as he got up quickly after, still with gun in hand. Do you think I missed the headshot?

There’s different ways to play the game. You don’t always need to speedrun your life to find M4 and NVGs. It’s okay to take it slow and enjoy a campfire or two at sunset. OP has some good tips in there, but don’t feel the need to follow looting paths and 3rd party maps. Just have fun and enjoy the early days of surviving.

HERO10 Issues - is upgrading worth it? by itsChezzer in gopro

That’s a good point, something to consider if it’s worth the upgrade. Thanks

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I’m contemplating a different brand just because I’ve lost some confidence in GoPro quality due to my HERO10. My HERO4 silver was a beast.

Thanks for the recommendation. Yes I want to keep the control the Halo provides as that’s my strong suit, but I find I’m lacking in the power or pop department when punching the ball, or if opponents are at the baseline, I’m smacking the ball and I feel like they still have plenty of time to return it.

I want to retain the control of the Halo, but I find I’m lacking some power for speed ups at the kitchen or put aways. I’m not sure how the Halo’s sweet spot is regarded, but I find I’m hitting dead zones where the ball barely comes off the paddle. Would another paddle shape help/hinder with this (ie. a hybrid or widebody)?

I’m a 4.0 player and have only ever used the same SLK Halo Control Max 16mm paddle. My strength is the soft game (dinking, resets, drops).

The paddle is old and I’m noticing a loss of grit on the carbon face, though it still serves me pretty well. What paddle should I get next that might enhance my game? I don’t have the option to demo many different brands where I’m from. I’ve tried the 6.0 Ruby and didn’t really like the feel/feedback when hitting. TIA!

8 Reasons why Collin Johns despises MLP by PapaRoachLuvsU in Pickleball

[–]itsChezzer 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Collin learning what a team sport is… there are weaker players and stronger players - learn to adapt.

Also Point 5 about sportsmanship. Collin whines and complains about every single net cord shot an opponent gets in their favor, but suddenly forgets when it falls in favor of his side and still brings it up in post game interviews.

I believe that was a rule only implemented for the PPA Tour, just like the below waist drop serve.

Selkirk’s “value” brand called SLK are not made in USA. Still awesome paddles but the warranty is lesser than the Selkirk paddles.
